So I was randomly browsing through cracked.com and stumbled upon one of their older articles on the best Sci-fi movies that were never made.

And coming in at #4 was good ole SC. It's pretty well written, and distills the SC universe down to it's core awesomeness. And how awesome it is indeed.
Seriously, an intergalactic war between 3 intelligent and vastly different races. There are endless possibilities for interaction and storytelling. As the cracked writer says, "In the hands of the right director (and a screenwriter who can create memorable characters to follow) you could have the next Star Wars, a universe with almost infinite stories to tell."
How badass would it be to see Jim Raynor confronting Kerrigan on Char, while giant Goliaths stalk around on the battlefield blasting a sea of zerglings? Or watching Tassadar crash his carrier into the Overmind, while mutas, corsairs, wraiths, and god knows what else swarms around. Cum in your fucking pants, that's how badass.
Unfortunately, this will probably never happen. Though, one can hope that SC2 will be so mind-numbingly awesome, and be so popular, that they will have no choice but to make a 300 million dollar movie out of it.
I know that this has been discussed before (old and mostly closed threads), and the general consensus was that it would be badly done. Or be made by Uwe Boll.
But what if. What if it were totally awesome?
So discuss, if you will, what scenes would make the best movie fodder from the SC story. Which character would be the best. Who should play who. Etc.

You can get a glimpse of how gols would look like in a movie by watching starship troopers part 3, which is still worse than 1 but exponentially better than part 2.
I think a starcraft movie might be feasible, if the planned warcraft movie will be a huge success. The big issue for me is, whether it would be a cgi movie like avatar of if it indeed could be similar to starship troopers but with better actors (although NPH rules). http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=38821

All video game to movie adaptations have been terrifyingly bad thus far, and while this is not a sure barometer for the future, it's a strong indicator of the likely result.

Imagine...
A terran base being attacked by hundreds of zerglings and hydras(all perfectly made 3D, even BETTER THAN AVATAR, yes yes  ) and being overrun.
And then protoss enters the scene by recalling an army of zealots and DT's and HT's slashing, rending and storming their way through the zerg masses.
Meanwhile the zergs' reinforcements are arriving ( A couple of thousands ultralisks and cracklings and guardians) ready to annihilate everything that still lives.
Oh oh and e defiler that's plagueing and swarming everything :D

I know for one thing that unless the SC movie is worse than D-war (shittiest movie in history) I bet the movie will be an insta-hit in Korea (duh).
The movie(if made) with a decent director and with the CGI at hand today, should be an epic movie. Lets just pray it happens...

Seriously SC movie could be so massively epic. Exactly like Star Wars mixed with Starship Troopers with much more insane gore. Special effects these days are so crazy people would have zerg nightmares.

They didn't. They just tell you that it happened. But a couple of the scenes I listed don't really have in-game cutscenes attached and are just inferred. But I think it would make an awesome scene.

video game story telling is so unlike movie storytelling, they'd have to change large parts of it and people would be pissed off.
there's no way to make a video game movie that satisfies die-hard fans of the game and people who know nothing about it, it's impossible.

you should, it's made for people new to rts so it's not hard, but the missions are well-designed and the story's good.
brood war campaign is about 10x better than the original campaign too.
