So my last blog was a brag about how I made it to b-, (Well, dodging vt's anyways)
And now I think I'm only in a d+ range at best. I just got owned by a 94 apm protoss.
I tried to split fighting spirit in half. Instead I got my entire army statised and 1a2a3a'd to oblivion.
I think I might quit sc now or switch to protoss since its so much easier.

EMP is a good counter to stasis. Also, non-clumped up tanks.

I played a game yesterday and killed the zergs main and still lost. how sad is that.

Too bad they were active like only 7 years ago or so when a common D+/C- level player (edit: of today) would be one of the top players at the time.

It isn't possible to quit starcraft.
If you are anywhere near the B- rank you aren't a D+ level player. You might not be B- level but you are surely above D+. Just keep working at it and if you are getting so frustrated you talk about quitting bw then you need a new approach. Who cares about a ICCUP game?
If you are still having problems PM me and I will look over a rep or two to help. And no I am not asking for money.. just hate seeing someone unhappy with scbw >_<

I played a game today, saw a guy is going 2 gate lots, made proxy gate and fast dark templars, began to rape his main while he had no detection only one cannon in nat, double expanded, and still lost in 20 minutes. How fucking SAD is that.
P is so easy.

You're B- and still didnt realize how overrated apm is?
|
The question is... was the protoss guy a legit D+ player (as in not a smurf)?

no no no we need terrans like you to play terran

LOL I like what incontrol said.. it isn't possible to quit SC...
everyone has said reasonable things so far.. I'm paranoid enough to run the game through bwchart or some other software and see if the Fuck was cheating..
did he get a 12 nex off on you? if so it might just be a BO win.. We'd all like to see the rep if possible

Just looked him up on iccup, he's a 56-104 currently, and his best last season was c-.
I don't think I'll actually quit sc but ARRRG it was just a stupid loss. I can't believe I lost to somebody like him since I know I could have played soooooo much better.
Biggest factor was probably me not getting my gas geysers even though I had 4 available, I only took like 1.5. This led to lack of vessals/upgrades/tanks. and me floating like 6k minerals trying to build supplies to keep up with like 8 fact vulture which are cheap as hell and build so quick.
Not to mention I lost like 12 tanks really early on trying to push too early/contain him to his bridge, which is how I won all my c+ games last season doing almost the same thing. So no gas to replenish tanks = 30+ vultures getting owned.
http://www.repdepot.net/replay.php?id=29482 The link if anybody wants to see how a terran can get owned.
All this said, I think I'm going to play some more. Like people have said, its pretty hard to actually quit. Just gotta rage a bit.
|
Wish it was possible for a b- protoss to get owned by a 94 apm terran in mid-late game... Your main problem was trying to split fighting spirit with a toss and letting him play pure macro (all his apm affords).

I played 8 games yesterday trying to replicate Movie's strategy with insuffecient micro and timing and game sense. I ended up losing 8 times pretty much the same way. Definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting the same results so i guess im just insane

i 5 pooled l10f on bgh and scouted him first try on really close positions. I killed first lot and pylon and i still lost. If this did not happen to you do not go talking about quitting sc.

you also lost to a proxy hatchery in your main, who only made like 4-6 zerglings with it.

because it was bgh, losing the pylon means NOTHING because you can use probes to kill the weakened lings and 2 more zealots are on the way.

ya so just like in Tennis anyone can beat anyone once... you were probably tired.. I wouldn't beat yourself up too much.. if you had more gas and a way to pack more factories in you would have been fine.. looks like he got some easy kills from stasis his apm was 100 and yours was 200+ in the meat of the game.

terran can *nearly* NEVER WIN after losing a main. protoss and zerg can ezly it's retarded as shit.

BGH rush/scout distance is monstrous unless it was 11/12

Except that Giyom was pretty fast for his era. 140 apm before BWChart and free-clicking and all that nonsense was really, really good.
140 apm players of today don't use those clicks nearly as efficiently.

No. D+ players simply do not understand the game. Maybe a D+ player would win the first 1 or 2 games with modernized build orders, but a player as smart as one of those guys would figure out how to butt rape that D+ player pretty damn quickly. Not to mention, the mechanics of a typical D+ player are abysmal and not nearly as good as "S-class" players even from 10 years ago. You really need to get to at least mid/high C's before you get players who would clean house if they were sent back in a time machine, possibly even higher than that.

Understatement of the century. This game is crack in CD format.

Mastermind is pretty decent actually, if you ignore his apm and record for this season. He usually beats my C-/C zerg, and about 190-200apm as well :S
