It's been awhile since I really fell in love with someone's music. Then a few days ago in the depths of the internet I stumbled upon a guy called Ben Howard. This IMO - considering his talent - ridiculously unknown artist, doesn't even have a record deal.
check it out if you like acoustic singer-songwriters
There are several hundred thousand people with voices exactly like his except better, and they are all in popular bands. Also there are tons of people good at tap guitar, and they are also better than him. Altogether he's not that amazing.

1) how on earth can someone have exactly the same voice except better, that doesn't even make sense 2) how exactly do you know how skilled he is at tap guitar? cause you just saw 1 or a maximum of 2 vods? Of course it's still certainly true that there's several people who are more skilled (there always are), but beautiful music is not just about skill.
If you don't like it that's cool, just say you don't like it. edit: feel free to give examples of those popular bands though

I've been really into dreampop/folk lately, and the new Grouper release is my perfect winter album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWSVE198yGw Maybe you'll enjoy as well.
Ha and I thought patrick watson sounded dreamy I think the vocals are a bit too far in the background, but I like it overall, gonna check some more stuff out. Btw, I don't think Howard really does spoken-word type stuff, I think that's pretty much the only song.
I must sound like a salesman but when there are musicians like this and nobody fucking knows them it's just sad, so spread the word.
It's just that it sounds pretentious the way you describe it. "Really talented" doesn't really make me want to listen to it, because people will say that about just about anyone. "Watch till the end" is something you often hear conservatives say when they link to a 3 hour preachy political video.
A description of the genre, style, and art direction it takes would be a lot better than just saying you like him and think he deserves more attention.
I love Lykke Li : D That video the OP posted reminds me of her.
Saw her live once, but I went there alone and I didn't find it that good tbh. The concert I attended was at a festival. She's better suited in a small club like setting, I guess : )

I didnt describe genre/style cause I figured after watching the short vid people would see anyways, but yeah I think you're right, my op is probably a bit over the top and should be more objective to let people make up their own mind about it. Edited the OP a bit to make it sound less preachery
