I'm definitely in the minority here. I love me some all-kills!

I like all-kill, but Proleague format really emphasizes the whole team being good rather than a single god player or lucky run.

All kill, bigger and more unpredictable variety of matchups.

I don't like swapping out to a specific zerg player for X map to abuse racial imbalance, thus shutting down most of the matchup choices in favor of zvz / zvt every time that map is coming on for example.

All-kill is more fun to watch an individual match, but regular proleague format feels more stable. I really don't want to pick one - I like having a mix.

All-kill. The Proleague format often becomes mirror vs mirror for maps with even the slightest advantage for a single race. While that may also apply to the all-kill format, real-time sniping can help with that since the coach knows (not just predicts) who they have to play against in the next set. Additionally, I believe the "hidden roster" of the all-kill format adds much more tension and surprises to the games.

The Proleague format has given so many good games, and were very stable in its performance. You had the best players on edge, you had the mediocre players showing their strength, you had the strategic thinking in both map specific scenarios and the overall teams.
All-kill had hyped moments, Billowy taking down the mighty KT rolster even though he wasn't a star player is one of the best examples.
I just think that all-kill falls short of the high standard of the Proleague format. I want to watch sOs cannon vZ on a zerg favoured map, winning every game. Ever heard of Ryung, the TvT specialist? He had above 50% win rate even though he only played players with 80+%. I think Maru had 90+% in TvT at the time. The special tactics of Proleague were also amazing. Rogue's herO snipe with researched flying locust, a build that "never worked in practice" but Rogue belived in it anyway, was so unexpected. Yonghwa's proxy nexus for recall, a strategy that hinged on unscouted nexus, made a big part of the crowd open their mouths in wonder.

Proleague made it so that a whole lot of players got a moment to shine. A friend tuned in only to watch Rogue do his antics. My favourite part was that the format allowed for a lot of strange, useless and funny statistics could be gathered. How many turrets per game did Flash make this season? What is the average kill per MSC in the first 6 minutes? PartinG had the MSC kill record when he microed the MSC to a victory on Habitation Station. What is the ratio of scouted/unscouted proxies?

Even if this poll is focused on the match format, I ended up thinking of the overall Proleague format. PL got better by being an event with set times, mattering a lot to the teams, having great production and presentation, and being offline.

ProLeague format for the Group Stage, All Kill for the finals
I used to organize tournaments for ESL Italy and referee Go4SC2s, WCSs, and IEMs for ESL SC2.

Sums up my thoughts on the matter. One of the things that make team leagues fun and diffrent from individual competitions is that it’s a team effort, allkill although cool from time to time undercuts this.

One of the most disappointing team league finals I ever watched was GTSL @ busan beach, where gumiho all killd slayers.

Proleague is the one and only format. If you do multiple rounds (like PL used to do) I guess it's ok to have some allkill in there to mix it up, but for the most part proleague is the way to go.

All kill is fun to watch I guess, but what I used to enjoy about professional Starcraft was how lower level team members were given a purpose and chance to shine with the Proleague format. It is a good reminder in this day and age where everyone seems to view results as a fait accompli that even B-level players would routinely take out the best of the best when they spent a week preparing offline for one matchup on one map against one player. That level of preparation, that level of detail is what made Proleague so special. It is crazy to think that a human being devoted nearly and entire week of their lives studying and preparing for 15 minutes of game time to show their skill to a very small group of people who would care about that. Anytime a person devotes that kind of effort to being excellent against seemingly insurmountable odds, it moves me. That person gave up so much just for a small chance, totally outmatched in many cases. In a nutshell, that is what is beautiful about humans and about life in general. You think you know what will happen, but with focus, determination, and some luck, anything at all is possible.

Pl format is boring, aside from the constant miror mu, the good players manage to avoid each others while playing the mediocres, in pl, it was okay because the level was somewhat stacked (well I still didn't bother watching too many of it, compared to wc3l it was tedious) but in NW it would be terrible and boring.
There are probably 4 nations who can fill decent 3 players line up (France, Poland, Germany and Korea), the rest would be only stomp. All kill format at least brings uncertainty and potential good games.

Players show up with awesome games and overall better preparation in the proleague format. Imo, this is what makes team leagues special compared to individual leagues. Players have just one game to show what they got. So every match seems very intense.

Interestingly, I think I remember the last seasons of Proleague also had all-kill rounds as part of the play-offs...

Proleague had explicit 2 systems. One was literally called "proleague format", the other was all kill. Proleague format was for regular seasons. The terminology is clear.
I believe you disapprove of the terminology and declare the poll stupid for your personal dislike of definite terms. That is a common strategy for people who see themselves as above others, intellectually. I hope that you are not like that.

Proleague format is the only way to determine which TEAM deserves the win. You could Serral with 3 Silver League players and still win lots of team games with the All kill format.

The mixed version can be nice for leagues like NationWars where one team is clearly better then the others to make it interesting.

If you have competitive teams, then proleague format is best. It's a teamleague, it should be about the team overall not who has the best player.

With events like nationwars though, it really isn't viable as most countries will have only one pro player or so. Allkill makes the tournament at least somewhat competitive.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs
