wow, these maps were all used before i watched progaming. since the beleagured toss users are very vocal about map imbas, i've heard a lot about mercury. reach went quite far (3rd place iirc) in the ever osl despite it being in the map pool.

however, this is probably yet another treacherous mani poll, and mercury's definitely not the answer. he's relying on mercury's infamy to steer us away from the right answer. (but i voted for it anyway -_-)

oh, and was enter the dragon an old school map?

yea it's the wrong map. Forte isn't island. It's the 4 player map with insanely small mains and a nat that has 3 minerals above and 3 minerals below.

mercury was terribly imbalanced PvZ but i don't recall the PvT being that unreasonable... then again there were so few Ps due to the PvZ problem

neo forte had plenty of great zvp games that i don't remember it being super imba, gaema was pretty balanced, r-point was a little off but not terribly so

i don't remember much about Enter the Dragon so maybe that was it ;O

All I remember is having no idea how to play ZvT on ETD, back in like PGT season 1. And back when ETD was played, Terrans played off 1 base anyway, so I imagine that a map that favors 1 base play would be even more T-friendly. I wouldn't be surprised if Mercury is hard to play PvT, but I'm sure the insane PvZ weeded out toss players enough such that only the very best were still alive to play PvT.

edit: Reach beat Yellow on Mercury, at least.

ktf autumn (was it ktf autumn? there were two of them, the one im referring to retired) won a game on mercury. i think it was a long game with carriers, sairs and reavers (possibly against saferzerg, or one of the other zergs that have faded into obscurity).
then there was the EVER 3rd place decider between reach and yellow, the 5th game on mercury where reach stormed yellows entire army into dust then walked across the map and killed him

mercury was a pretty bad map all around. terran beat zerg and protoss on it just for playing terran, though pvz was by far the worst matchup to play on it.

ETD zvt was pretty ridiculous. what were the map makers thinking when they let that one go off into competitive play? i vote for this
