I'm pretty sure PaleMan got stricter moderation because he already got warned and banned multiple times in the EuroMaidan thread - 3 bans and 2 warnings before this one from my count.

deb's moderation history is surely one of the worst on tl. you are completely disregarding how disproportionate the abrasiveness are in the posts. paleman has been getting the short end of the stick out of everyone in the euromaidan thread, largely self-inflicted no doubt, but man that's some biased as shit moderation. i feel sorry for him.

I agree this looks unfortunate. But to be honest it's incredibly hard to moderate this thread. Just the page those two were on and the previous one there were enough posts to ban half the people there.
I guess we will have to be stricter toward everyone in the thread from now on.

sure, and maybe if teletubby had scrolled from top to bottom he would have been a bit wiser before banning paleman.
besides this, i think the moderation has been good in that thread.
i think the warning is a weak cop out after the ban on paleman was landed.

It looks a bit off to me, but that is a hard thread, and paleman had really been trolling it hard. Not too sure about deb.

I wonder if actual shills should be banned? while some of the Russian guys read as actual Russian citizens; the new guy that just joined today totally reads like a paid propagandist.
Though I concur that tl has a history of biased moderation, which I've been victim to repeatedly.

I cant stand posts like the one above me-
if you feel like you have been moderated more strictly than others, you have probably earned it. I have never once seen a ban that I thought didnt have damn good reasoning behind it.

My actions may not have been perfect, but there were others who were clearly and demonstrably the source of the problem and committing worse infractions who were not punished at all; hence, bias.

I personally would think DEB has a bannable post, especially considering his history.
You can't let him off with a warning for calling someone else a "contemptible human being", that's just a direct attack on someone else with no contribution to the topic. It's also just plain rude. I would say ban them both.

Oh I have no doubt that moderation is probably biased against you, you immediately strike me as unpleasant. However that doesnt speak to the mods not doing a good job, it just speaks to you earning your bias.

I'm reasonably sure that the Ten Commandments make it very clear that moderation on TL is not necessarily unbiased (besides, there isn't a person anywhere who is), lending favours to older and/or contributing members.

all i will say is that i think complaining in this fashion accomplishes nothing so that is why i don't do it (also why i don't report posts). i think it's whiny and self-righteous and everything else i could think to say also sounded whiny. and self-righteous too in a way even i am uncomfortable with so i'll leave it at that.
