Random is not a race. That is the connection. Obviously, there are no random units. So there can't be random unit icons, or this would have existed from the start. But the idea is just to give people who choose random when they play a way to differentiate themselves from the race players when posting on TL. Having critter icons creates that differentiation, while conveniently also being units from the game (rather than a group of unrelated images). But why should one random critter > another random critter. Doesn't make mutch sense Are the race icons really sorted worst to best? Is a Scout really better than a High Templar? An Infested Terran better than a Guardian? I'm not certain everyone would agree the race icons have a definitive hierarchy (aside from the one bestowed by TL). Sill, that's why I generally sorted them by size. Larger = better. Except for the Automaton 2000. That is the last critter. Watch GSL replays and Tasteless will give you a sense of its importance in StarCraft. Or at least make you chuckle.

Well that explanation might sound like it makes sense, but in reality there is no connection between a rabbit / cow / autobot and the race random. Neutral doesnt mean random, and NOT T/Z/P doesnt mean random either. The idea of having icons for the random players is good, but they have to be self-explanatory. Imagine somebody who's new to the site: He sees a rabbit and thinks "Oh that is a random player" Not really. Again my suggestion would be not to use crittes, but other icons that are clearly associated with randomness, like coins and dice and so. A ranking could be done by using their Laplace-chances: Coin ( 1/2 ) , Dice ( 1/6) 12 Side- Dice (1/12 ) ... to an orb which has a laplace chance of (1/infinity) so to say.

Personally I don't think the critters are really representative of Random players.....would prefer the dice and question mark a lot more.

Definitely a critter could be good here, or, no, actually a Dice would be cool. The biggest problem is that it would be extremely difficult to do the pseudo rank system for random players.

No need to come up with some weird thing with dice or critters, makes sense, no need to come up with a new ranking system. Double no.

"... I generally sorted them by size. Larger = better. Except for the Automaton 2000. That is the last critter." The automaton should be the highest decal in any scenario (even dices)...I wholeheartedly agree and cannot stop myself while typing this... Random has no equivalent and while i personally initially preferred the D&D dice approach (i would hate loosing the dice reference), i think loads of randoms might think it dull visually "overall" (only ever having a dice). i also agree that critters are not the best, because they are not as exiting visually as sc2 units (with exceptions). I do love the fact that it's do a ble that way and ![]() tl gracious mods and admins will only go for something that will work in favor of the members, not something half of the randoms will be put off by, so identifying random players' wishes seems paramount.. Critters (great work ready to go) or dices (with or without variations: coin, whirligig, roulette domino or checks' pieces or even the "orb bit".....), all get my vote (+1 random player wants to be identified as such, in a cool way on cool tl).
