Sometimes I will be interrupted however - a peer will have a question, I'll need to go to a meeting, or sometimes it's just a washroom break - and inevitably my music must be paused. Often as I go off to do that other endeavour, the song will continue to play but in my head, and I don't really give it much thought.
As I return to my desk and get back to work, it's occurred to me that I almost always forget to put the music back on. After half a minute or maybe a couple of minutes after sitting down, it will occur to me that I am listening to music, but that it's only in my head (on repeat), and that I should resume the song. The super bizarre part is that 90% of the time, the part of the song that reminds me to unpause my music, is almost exactly the same place I paused it (like, within a second of the correct part). It can be in the middle of the chorus, or the last few notes that dim at the end of the song, it doesn't seem to matter.
Does this happen to anyone else?
Brains are cool.
