Reading the pros opinions on the game benefits the rest of us a lot. Thank you, dear sc2 pros. yeah, this exactly. seeing random people post about balance who refuse to tell you their rank just really annoys me. when someone like ret, idra, or nony posts (the only people ive seen recently), I know they know what they're talking about

on-topic: I do appreciate when the guys who know what they're talking about voice their opinion. It's always good to get a glimpse into their minds

I hear TL is planning to make pro posting easier/more visible, looking forward to that!

Lol, you make a thread for discussion, then rage when people have a different opinion then yours? 0_o I agree that having pros post is awesome, but the community would still be amazing if they didn't. Teamliquid wouldn't stop existing just because pros stopped posting. It's always nice to have their insight of course, as they know better than anyone else, but I agree that most of the credit for the awesome TL community should go to the staff and mods.

User was warned for this post Someone disagreeing with you is not "shitting on your thread." There are a lot of reasons people post on our site, and I'd say the pros visit here often because of the community created here, not because of some duty of service. It's a reciprocal relationship between fans/community and the top players / SC2 personalities. I am not for assigning percentages or deciding who deserves the "majority" of the credit for why people visit TL, but as your thread is created in a spirit of appreciation and cooperation, it's probably better to not be so reactive to posts that are critical. Let moderation do its job, and let the community defend your position if you believe in it.

The forum itself is "great" in that they punish unsubstantiated whining and pointless dickwaving, which puts it well ahead of most forums about online video games, but the pros and people with similar levels of understanding are the ones that make the site actually useful for players to improve and expand their play without having to figure out absolutely everything for themselves.

And then I absolutely hate it when people ignore them and are still 100% sure they know how to defend specific timing pushes better than our local pros =P Much respect!

Some guy comes on here and writes a heartfelt and more importantly needed thank you to pros, and some troll comes along with a BS statement like that. Ban is very much in order. Of course as was pointed out above by several people the pros post here for the same reason we all do - its a great SC focused community that has a wide area of other discussion as well. The pros are not posting here (or at least most of them aren't) out of a 'duty' to the fans, but more out of the desire to discuss the game with people other than their practice partners. Nonetheless a thank you is in order, and its really disturbing to me to see the kind of response some people put in. Really a lack of appreciation for everything not just the pros provide for us in entertainment, but TL.net does on a whole if you ask me.

Surprised the OP didn't mention replays. It's actually a bit of a liability for pros like White-Ra to post their replays given that it may give their tournament opponents a bit of an advantage. Yet many of them still do it and it has at least helped me greatly in refining my play and learning cool trick I didn't know. And double kudos to Day9 and Wheat for being friggin awesome.
