Hey, recently whenever I torrent anything and am on battle.net it results in the achievements disabled and enabled spam and constant drops from games and just general battle.net lag.
However when I pause all my torrents (utorrent) it's all back to normal. This is recent and I'm assuming on my end. There haven't been any changes to my firewall rules or router settings.
Could it be my ISP causing the conflicts? And has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance.

It's probably due to torrents eating all your bandwidth and blocking Battle.net traffic.
Stop stealing things and you should be fine.

You should try limiting the number of connections your bit torrent client can make

Don't... torrent... while gaming?

I don't think its bandwidth since they amount downloading is very low compared to my available, and it only affects Battle.net, no other game.

Will try that
Don't... torrent... while gaming?
Thanks, tips.

limit your max upload? for most connections, especially DSL upload speed is alot slower than download and for DSL uploading at max speed will severely limit your download speed.

Torrenting and sc2 and both very bandwith heavy. You will NOT be able to run them both at the same time unless you have the world's fastest internet connection. If you cap your DL and UL speed, it may be able to work.

1. Get on a popular torrent with at least 1000 peers and at least 350 MB in size. 2. Let it run completely unthrottled. 3. Set your maximum global upload limit to 10 kB/s less than average upload speed for that torrent. 4. Make sure utorrent is set to include transport overhead in calculating the upload speed.
Still having problems? Buy a new and better router and upgrade to VDSL2.

Don't download torrents while gaming(its obvious). Even though the torrent may not be eating all your bandwidth its actually taking paths and connection. Ultimately even if you have 20mb/s download it goes through specific paths and eats up your connection speed(even if you download at say only 2mb/s).
The best thing to do is to buy an expensive and quality router, that is going to control the connection and you won't be experiencing that much slowdowns. But yeah, its better to just not download while gaming period.

Lies. I used to do quite a lot of torrenting and it was never a problem even while SC2ing. Even when upload speed was close to maxed on my horribad Comcrap connection. SC2 uses very, very little bandwidth. It's the ping speed that's much more important.

It doesn't matter the speed, I've throttled it and everything. Also I used to torrent fine. Even when the torrent is runnin at 1kb/s it still causes BNET issues, and only BNET issues, no other game.

Please don't make false statements. I run torrents unthrottled at 3 mb/s or/and ~600 kb/s up and can play SC2 fine.

I think this just sounds like his QoS was never set up properly (or is set on "Auto").

Using torrents doesn't mean you're stealing

I hate this meme. I have torrented things before too but this logic is just stupid trolling.

We should all be arrested for downloading sc2 patches.
