Actually, this game uses brain, it doesn't use hands. Low tier players usually have 400+ apm but really pro players have 330+ apm. if you are gosu, you will know what I say!

Soulkey and snow and light and mind will often drop to 250-280 apm. Mini Larva and Hero will play over 400 apm most of the game. Royal JyJ too go below 280 a lot.

Just gonna say that Hero always starts out with crazy APM, but drops off a cliff to like sub 280 in the mid-late game. Biggest drop out of any progamer I've seen Effort and Hyuk are really the Zergs who consistently stay above 400

While most pros do have high eapm, some of them don't yet are champions in ASL or Online tournaments. Here's some examples from some proleagues from 2021 using SCRCHART, which is better than repmastered for EAPM because it removes the first 2 minutes of spam, where nothing of value happens: + Show Spoiler [Lower apm/eapm examples] + From a 17 minute match, FlaSh vs Soulkey: ![]() From a 16 minute match, Effort vs Mini: ![]() From a 17 minute match, Rush vs Stork: ![]() From a 12 minute match, Snow vs Shine: ![]() Here are some eapm monsters: + Show Spoiler [high apm/eapm examples] + Hyuk vs Light, 11 minutes long: ![]() Bisu vs herO, 17 minutes long: ![]() Mini vs Action, 14 minutes long: ![]() Shuttle vs Soma, 23 minutes long: ![]() JyJ vs Queen, 16 minutes long: ![]() I think most of the time it is about playing smart, doing the correct build order, hitting timings, getting good information, making smart moves. Apm and Eapm aren't that important. Looks cool sometimes, but it is overrated. One more: Cwal ladder match with mind vs soulkey from 2024. it was only 7 minutes long but its a good example: ![]() Soulkey vs Ssak, 17 minutes long: ![]()

I do think there are things that are VERY important to do, that you can't pick up as eapm with ANY algorithm. If you look closely at how Soulkey plays, a bunch of his actions which count as spam, are small little positional moves he makes to get better alignments. Also I feel that shift+number isn't counted as apm, but ctrl+number is. So players who use a lot less ctrl+number and more shift+number get lower eapm. Hyuk on the other hand, adds a lot of actions that count as eapm, but that don't actually help him at all or do much. He is technically and mechanically by far the best player, but it actually just doesn't add anything. He can at ungodly fast speeds add a full macro cycle inbetween his attack moves when he's doing mutalisk micro, but he does it on reflex even when he has no minerals to spend on anything.
