I've been gaming since starcraft came out in 98. Nothing ever too serious. I mainly play fps games and fall back on starcraft when ever something got boring. Since starcraft 2 came out, I've been playing it like crazy. With the ladder system and replays I feel that hackers and cheater are not as likely to show up in the higher matches. I enjoy being a competitive diamond player but I think I have to stop.
With fps games most movement is side to side. Looking around for enemies. Sometimes you look up or down to find someone but not often. In starcraft I look in all directions pretty equally overall. This is killing my thumb joint. Left, right, up are all fine but to go down I curl my fingers instead of moving my whole arm and my thumb joint is now having issues with this.
Anyone else run into this or am I alone in my pain?

Sounds like RSI. Go see a doctor before you do more damage to your hand.

Get a bigger mouse? Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 would be my suggestion

just start doing push ups on your fingers, when you will be able to do 3 finger one hand push up it will be better and better (yes it is possible)
