If it's not immediately apparent why revamping the website and trying to help the website grow is a good thing, then it's really not worth explaining. As for your criticism of me not stepping in earlier to maintain the quality of the discussion in this thread, I have no qualms about admitting that I tend to be a hands-off moderator. I prefer not to have to step in and use the threat of bans, warnings, etc. unless it's really necessary. However, this thread had been getting progressively worse over the past few weeks and wanted to let everyone know that actions would be taken if things the didn't change to give them a chance to improve their posting. I could easily have just banned or tempbanned all the people who were involved in the poor posting without posting first, but I thought I'd give everyone the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to fix things on their own. Maybe I should've come down on people harder sooner, but that's not how I do things on TL and it's worked pretty well for me in the past. I could care less that you think I sound like a "fkn douchebag", a whiner or someone who needs to "get to work", or that you don't care for my opinions. Just realize that your opinion carries no weight either, particularly since it's coming from a source that has done nothing to show it matters. Also, if you care to keep posting on this site, then you should know that spouting uninformed and unsupported criticisms against someone who has helped moderate the site for quite a while now is not a good way to do it. | ||
