I just arrived in Stockholm. Some stuff I should absolutely do/see there? I'm leaving on sunday evening so that gives me one day and a half. TLnet is crawling with swedes so let's get the suggestions rolling!
I'm currently staying at a boat-hotel called the Mälardrottningen (lol swedish names) anchored on the western side of Gamla Stan. It's pretty cool. :p
Other than that holy shit Sweden rocks. I spent the last three days working near a town called Hemavan in northwestern Sweden and it was easily among the best-looking places I've ever been to. I've always been a big fan of winter and being there was a blast. I even enjoyed the -27°C in the morning.
Sweden also instantly cured me of the asian girl fetish. The problem is that the guys are fucking hot as hell too. They're as tall as me or even taller and so much more buff and tanned it's not even funny. While waiting for the luggage to come out there was a guy who looked like the impossible son of Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. To make things worse he didn't even wear the ugly swedish gray sweatshirt but stupidly cool and fashionable clothes. I felt bad about myself for a minute. I wonder if that's how ugly girls feel like everyday? Thank god I'm male.
Wearing Converse by -20°C Not a good talent toi have
I think I've lost a few toes

Glad to hear you like it!

You can go to the Wasa museum, it's pretty cool, it's a sunken ship from the 17-th century when Sweden was a superpower. The story behind why the ship sunk is quite hilarious and full of fail. Gamla Stan is quite nice as well. Konstig Klubb is also a nice club if you like electro music

Looks like i gotta go there. I also love winter, the first snow pic looks uberawesome, would be even better with proper boots i guess. The ship-hotel seems also very pimp. I had the opportunity to go to Uppsala for a year for University but i somehow did not do it, what an epic fail.

I was there a few weeks ago. Didn't have the time to watch everything, but the wasa museum was pretty cool. Walking distances are not too far if you are in gamla stan, but if you want to visit a lot of places you should get a subway ticket. They got 24/48/72 hour tickes that are not too expensive. For going out Södermalm is supposed to be good, but we ended up in a club where we didn't like the music at all and as we got out everything around it was already closed
|
What sort of things are you looking to do while in stockholm?
im actually also wearing converse here.. just came home from japan and it's really cold as fuck.

Yeah for going out Södermalm (a big district in Sthlm) is great. Lots of places and many places are quite cheap. There's alot of artsy and young people living there.
Funny, I lived like 100 meters from that boat when I was in Sthlm many years ago. It's definately a very cool city.
