I recently played a korean who's game name was n.die_suuk, and this person was bad compared to other Koreans I've played that are not part of a clan. Is this person just lying about being in the n.die clan? Can anyone who knows more about this explain how people join these clans?
Edit: Sorry if this wasn't clear, i'm not looking to join any clans cause I'm a D player myself. I'm just wonder how this player got into a clan

a lot of clan members of the well known kor clans aren't fantastic players themselves, there's lots of C and B rank players in them. As a foreigner you can either be a decently good, known foreigner and play a lot with them, or just suck up to the best of your abilities and treat as them though they are the superior race as many foreigners sporting kor clan tags have done in the past.

No, like this guy is a D to D- player, i don't know how he got into the clan

If you are an A-/B+ foreigner you can join like 99% of the clans.
Even if you are like C <-> B-, very friendly and you speak a bit Korean you might find some clans ( although you probably won't be able to join the best clans )

I had a fake ]N[exus Id on Europe for example and i'm a noob. :p ( because i played with a Kor who was in this clan ).

generally you can just stats a player to figure out if they're smurfing a clan or not. If they have alot of games played then usually their real / very few games usually means its just a faker. Most good teams like n.Die keep a roster on their website, i dunno what their site is but they probably have a cafe daum site set up. Also sometimes you will find bad players in good clans due to them being let in as an honorary member due to knowing some players or being family etc.
As for joining them its hard to know without asking, some teams accept foreigners, nalteam, byclan, qoo), Victory, and a few others have foreigners in them currently. However some teams dont let non koreans in.

I wanted to apply to a Korean clan once but they told me that I need to register at their Daum Cafe or something, which requires a Korean SSN to register.

when i used to play sc, i just randomly joined west server and met clan leaders or testers in those big channels where there used to be people from all over.
i remember i joined M2M by talking to the leader who spoke very little english. they tested me, i lost but the fact that i was a foreigner who knew some korean interested them i guess. M2M was U-238[GnH]'s first guild. he used to be on hanbit or something. most people probably don't even know who he is
anyway, the second korean clan i joined was through the same process. talking to the leader who knew little english. after a while, i got to know some other members (by speaking the limited korean i know) and i eventually joined
some clans are much much much harder though. for example, there are these team play clans... well back then they existed, i dont know about now since im out of the scene. but clans like B-Blade, Nexus, pfft.... something else i forgot, there were a bunch
but i met a member from one of those team play clans and they had requirements like age, having recommendations from 10 members and being a channel regular for months and months and attending real life meetings. so obviously i didnt get in but yea. some are that extreme; (and that clan had a good number of players too; a few pro gamers having team play aliases)

Why would u want to even join a korean guild. Stroke your ego a little bit? You live in a different time zone, u cant even talk their language so whats the point. Its better if u practice with people that can speak english and around your level. Your wasting your time. Im not directing this at YOU (The OP) but im just saying in general to people.

most likely a fake, but you answered the question in the title.

Because they are a better player?
Rant: Korean are lucky to be able to played SC in a very supportive enviroment, compared to Malaysia, people are teasing me for playing a 10 years old game seriously. Hell, we only have 1 clan which barely even active anymore. ICCUP and Fishbattle is the only place that I can rely on

Every korean clan has terrible players, the clans are more about community than skill. There's no point joining a korean clan if you can't speak korean.

if i put n.die in the front of my ID would that mean that I joined the clan?
I think if u read the ID in its wholeness then you should be able to understand it.

Was the wrong usage of the word their and terrible spelling of the word douche part of the joke?

I think if you put n.die in front of your name you actually just become as cool as Jaedong.
