I wonder if he legitimately isn't aware that gaming is deep enough to tell just by watching him.
In a weird way, this is quite on-brand for a newly minted social media tycoon. TikTok, Youtube etc are full of people giving daily advice-omercials and "expert" breakdowns from the absolute depths of the Dunning-Kruger trench, apparently very successfully. Why shouldn't he join in? Stream some gameplay, flash the rank badge to "prove" it, bullshit away.... it'll be fun.
He's a tech CEO, his whole actual job is to pretend he's an expert on technology that he paid someone else to build for him. Surely he'll be able to convince some normies that he can play a video game on the same basis...

To any actual gamer it was obvious that there were only two options to begin with. Either Elon wastes his time away doing nothing but play video games literally 24/7 and angrily tweet the rest of the day. Basically a massive loser without a life. If I didn't have to make money and could afford that lifestyle, that might be me. Without the mega wealth of course. Or the other option was that he was lying about his gamer credentials and had other people boost his accounts. Or a combination of both. This is why it was so obvious long ago that he's a massive loser. There were only loser options. It's not a new revelation, only ignorant people didn't figure it out.

If being the richest person in the world makes you a loser, I’d say the bar is set pretty high xD
|
How does being how rich you are have anything to do with being a loser or not? In any case, he's adored by literally millions of people. Hard to objectively call him a loser, despite his pathetic attempts as establishing himself as a god gamer. This is just lefties using the same dissonant rhetoric as righties but bending over backwards to prove they're actually right because reasons. To their credit though, Musk and Trump are extremely low hanging fruit so conspiries do not even need to be fabricated as all their dirty laundry is being aired by themselves.
|
I mean loser is a value judgment it's going to be hard to call anyone a loser "objectively" I don't know what you want from us
The one thing that we can say objectively and that's relevant to billionnaires and social structures is that there is nothing concrete about his work or his character or his contribution to society that makes him deserving of a better life than the rest of us.

Nebu there's winners and losers, always, don't you forget that. It's a doggy dog world and a zero sum game at that so just you try your best to be a winner or you'll be a loser. You can't make a deal and both be winners, that's ridiculous. If you're both winners, you're also a loser, and you don't want to be that. So DON'T. BE. A. LOSER.

He’s a man who could spend his time having threesomes with supermodels but instead chooses to pretend to be his own friend on 4chan and brag to complete strangers about how much sex he is having. He could devote his time to being the best parent ever to his kids but instead chooses to get high and tell 4chan about what a great dad he is. The only people whose opinion on your performance as a parent matters are your kids and they’re not going to change their lived experience no matter how much you brag on 4chan.
That’s objectively peak loser energy. He’s too busy trying to convince strangers that he’s a winner to make it across the fucking finish line. Winners don’t need to convince people they’re winners.

B-b-but SpaceX and Tesla and PayPal! He's working 100 hour weeks and all that. Can't you see he's beyond peak human being!?

Is it arrogance or desperation for validation? Because gamers would have been very happy with the idea of Elon, the billionaire who runs so many business, likes to chill playing video games- and he streams himself just being a casual gamer like Jablinski Games! (One of the best celebrity gaming videos, by the way). Nobody needed Elon to be the back to back, two time champ of PoE/ Diablo except Elon himself. This is all on him and him alone.
He may be intelligent, yet he is a fool. The riches of fools, but a fool nonetheless.
I think Elon enjoys gaming, but has such a frail ego and is so insecure he can't just enjoy them, he has to be the best at them, but he doesnt have the time nor skill to be the best at any game, so he has to pay someone else to play for him because he can't handle just enjoying something.

Thank for describing my life. This is why I stopped playing any game that isn't single player lol

I also relate in a way, but my problem is more on the job version of insecurity lol, I think a lot of gamers definitely have that dog in them

So weird that with all his success, he wants to keep proving everyone he's so succesfull at everything. Seems like some monkey paw business to me.

Wow Merriam Webster wins the argument again!
If I want to know a one sentence definition of something to definitively end an argument that's been going on for years, I know where to look now!
This is genuinely amazing. I wish I had known about dictionaries and the definitions of words years ago.
My opinion on Elon Musk just did a full 180.

Your usual crackpot can't identify who is good at something, they see expertise as a scam built on lies, the math is made up to confuse them.
But Elon can clearly identify (and hire) the people who are good at something, he didn't just pay some neighbourhood kid to grind aimlessly on his account. Yet when trying to pass off as a subject matter expert himself, whether in software design, engineering or a game, he can't stop crying that others too can tell who is and isn't good at something.

If I make a million dollars, that's winning. If I make a million dollars but I'm also so deeply unhappy in my own skin that I must convince complete strangers that I'm a god tier gamer even though I know nothing about video games, that's...
Yeah. That's not winning. Sorry.

This has vibes of being called a loser by a girl, then playing a chess game on your phone and showing her that she is mistaken because you won

If he was such a winner why did he pay someone to play Path of Exile 2 for him lmao

Because he’s rich as hell. When you have loads of money, you get people to do stuff for you so you don’t have to.
Just like those wow “pros” back in the day getting world first kills. They bought gold, so they could focus on more important things.
