I'm sure they're gonna try to leverage the tech as it comes out, but I think we're nearing the end of how powerful yet small consoles are. If PSVR3 isn't just some Google Glasses I'll be surprised. By then, I expect the size of the headset to be much, much smaller than it is now. If server hosted gaming gains traction we might see only one more generation of stationary gaming consoles. Either the game itself plays on the server or a lot of calculations are run there.

Unsure why there is so much hype around it, seemed like just another open world adventure game with nothing really special to it.

The headset is $550 USD. The same price as the console. I'll be waiting for the price to drop, but I think I'll get it in a year or two. If you haven't played the previous trilogy (and offshoots) then you're more than likely not going to see the hype. But the story is really what sells me, as well as the combat. It isn't for everyone though so...

Bought it as PC release and loved it. The gameplay and fighting mechanics are crisp, graphics are well done and the story is very emotional. Maybe it's because I have a son but this was right in the feels for me. I can understand how you feel though. Was the same for me with Horizon Zero Dawn. 10 hours in I just stopped and never started again

In HDZ I never really came to terms with the combat mechanic and the story didn't really drive me like it did in GoW. Also open world also means very time consuming and at times repetitive. Time that I don't have nowadays. Also, truth be told, I only play with M+K. Maybe with controller the combat is more fluid, dunno

I'd suggest getting a PS5 controller and using that. I use my extra when I play CP2077. I'm going to be MIA next week, holed up in my front room with my surround sound system right in my ears, projector (1080p only sadly), and PS5 downloading the day 1 patch we all know is coming lol. Might not sleep on the 8th.

Something about the story just grabbed me. Played zero dawn on PC with M+K, the sequel on PS5. I actually preferred M+K cause you’re using a bow all the time and aiming is just so much easier with mouse. Honestly struggling to come up with a reason why controller would be better for the combat, it’s pretty much point and click.
