Anyhow, like I explained to you in our discord conversation, I have a double citizenship (Russian and German). Currently I am staying with my girlfriend in Göteborg, but I have never said I'm Swedish. The only place where I'm officially registered at is at my house in Russia (not Germany nor Sweden). I'm not sure what offline tournaments you are referring to, but i haven't played BW for like 7 years until remastered came out. Yes, it's true that I used maphack over a decade ago and that is definitely not something I'm proud of. I understand if some people are still biased about this subject, but I can't make it undone. Indeed I offered you to send my passport and even pay myself for the flight to Moscow, since it wouldn't be fair for you to pay for another flight from Europe, when the payed quota is for traveling costs in Russia. Since you didn't say that you need my passport before the qualifier starts and didn't reply to my latest message, I assumed it's enough to send it IF I qualify at all. "Favorit tried to deceive Yoda into belief his participation was well approved" - i have no idea at all what you are talking about here. I didn't even talk to Yoda until he let me know about the ban. I obviously wouldn't have registered at all and wasted all of ours' time if you would've just said that I'm not allowed to play it in advance. All in all, it's unfortunate that we had this misunderstanding about WHEN the passport is to be sent and i understand your position in this. Anyway, if possible, I would like to have the opportunity to still send you the passport and challenge tokyoa for his qouta.

Zarrr has been a member of the german team since forever, he played in all sorts of german clans, participated in german forums, hell he played for the Ger Team. Regardless if he owns a russian passport or not, i think you can't be allowed to play in the national team of country A but then play country depended qualifiers for B. It shoould be handled like in sports: once you pick your country, you have to stick to it.

So, I guess, it's up to tournament organizers. And they have to pick one point of view and stick to it.

I think the main point is that nationality, or at least national teams is in general such a restricted arena that once we open the door for dual citizenship, we enter a gray area that might be hard to navigate properly. And seeing as Favorit has historically been German in the BW community, it might be odd if he's suddenly switching over to the Russian side in order to gain access to a tournament. And that's a fair point. However, there has been nationality switches before in the community. I remember Mireille switched from Norway to Sweden (had parent from each country, irrc). And although there was some hubbub, I don't think there were any restrictions later on (except maybe jumping from one to the other, ofc). Others will remember this more detailed than I, though. But there is some presedence.

But there is some presedence. Yes, there's precedents, but i think there is no case in point here. Zarrr has been historically playing for germany. Now he moved and resides in Sweden, wich would put him in the EU Qualifier as well. He's not living in Russia, he is not hugely active in the russian scene from what i understand. Whats the reason other than his interest in being eligible to play? So from information, im in agreement with Brain.

I wasnt suppose to add anything to this discussion, but this is just rediculous. Let's use German Athletics Federation as an example when it comes to cheating in sports. A german athlete that tests positive with a banned substance in his/her body is banned from all competition for 2 years, then he/she can start competing again. In sweden we have a 4 year ban and the person can never compete professional again. In USA there are f.e american football players, sprinters and baseball players who get caught with steroids in their body and still only get 6-18 months ban before they can start competeting on pro level again. In Russia the government deny deny deny eventho 43 athletes are sanctioned from the winter olympics 2018, and an ongoing investigation of proclaimed forged documents of drugtests of athletes for the summer olympics in 2020. (Thanks Germany for the investigation) Favorit on the other hand is banned for life if caught hacking 2008? There are numerous former players who got caught hacking in their early ages and still got to keep competing for years and years without the community organizers having anything against it, for example, Testie Let's use football as an example when it comes to playing for different countries a U21 player with multiple nationalities (two/three on passport) can after he's turned 22 choose if he wants to represent his current country or his native. Before 2004 a player with multiple nationalities could even switch as a senior. Most famously Alfredo Di Stefano, who played 6 games for Argentina, then 4 for Colombia before he choose to play for Spain in the late 50s. And since Favorit last represented Germany as a sc player when he was 20 (early 2008), wich sports rules should be applied on him? Another interesting note: Gamvit was allowed to play in the NA qualifiers eventho he's only been in the U.S for 1,5 years and dont have an american citizenship, why was the rules overlooked for him? (now don't get me wrong, I like Gamvit, he's a really nice guy and if he qualified I wouldve loved to see him in Moscow, like I wouldve loved to see JerryK97 (who lives in London), but he's not an GBR citizen so he did not sign up for the EU qualifiers) Aaaaaaanyways, you can keep making up whatever arguments you want, but in the end Favorit was banned because he had a grudge with Rus_Brain, and Gecko seems to hate him. And that is totally fine with me, but don't act like SC is anything like sports nowdays, because sports has always been about coming together, and for everyone, even if you fucked up once or twice. <3 Over and out

I said my private opinion here, not gonna blow this more up. He told you he applied to the EU quals before he applied for rus? You can't switch your nationality just because your excluded in your region. Don't wanna derail it. Take it to discord if you see a need Agge, you have my number.
