I wouldn't doubt soO. He said he's been focusing hard on ZvT for the last few months, I'd expect him to be better than he was in S2. And Gumiho went 4-1 against Serral but most of those games were close and lucky for Gumi, I wouldn't say he crushed that hard

A seeded ro8 just does not have that many permutations, it's not some conspiracy guys. With Special P1 and Elazer P2 in the groups the chances of it happening were pretty high

So far it really delivered, amazing games all around, the level of play is super-high, and we got all kinds of games - from the perfect tactical matches, to the scrappy fights until the end.. !

Games have to be good because finals = most viewed sc2 of the year, big ads. The best would have been a Rogue vs TY finals, now a soO vs TY. But we all know it will be soO vs herO/INno, not that good to promote the game.

As for the chances of it happening were pretty high, it was 1/3rd before the 1st place players were seeded then 1/2 afterwards. Funny how with those relatively low chances most of us in this thread knew it was going to happen.

That's not true, the chances for this to happen ware 2/3 before the 1st place was drawn, only possibility to deny it in 1st draw was to have Hero and Major on the same half of a bracket. So it's 66% in the first draw. Than it's 50/50, so overall chances to have Major vs Elazer is 33% due to drawing rules. Hardly surprising this happened. 33% are gigantic chances.

This tournament would be more honest if it had the round-robin system with a few additions (like in SSL Premiere) or the Swiss system at least. Otherwise luck factor comes to play and affects overall standings too much in my opinion. But again, this is just a tremendous show in the end of the year and I would not take its results too seriously. We all know a few players who deserve to be called the best this year.
