In short, they advocate for more Patterson, which I know some of you guys on here have done the same before too. Blake Murphy knows the Raptors well. he is a good daily beat reporter. the "force shots" words in the article's title are motivated by these comments from Lowry at 4:40. Lowry wants more ball movement and multiple passes while Casey wants more screen and roll. These comments indicate Lowry is getting closer and closer to openly feuding with Casey. "My team mates want" is Lowry's codeword for "Dwane Casey wants". I agree with Lowry's mindset on offense. I think ball movement and multiple passes is the best way to break down the Bucks aggressive ball-centric defense. Lowry has been really pissed off with Casey's screen and roll based offense since the middle of December.

There was no hesitation on Lowry's part.. the defense was in his face the nanosecond he receives the ball. Lowry's decision making and ball handling were solid in game 1. If Lowry just keeps doing what he was doing in game 1 and the Raptors hit 3s and FTs at their season average then they score 95 points instead of 83. The Raptors rarely score more than 100 in a playoff game. For the Raptors .... 95 points is solid production at the pace they play. The Raptors were not jacking up impossible shots on Saturday. They were makable, open looks. And, FTs: the Raptors have to hit 80%. Shooting was the problem in game 1. Decision making was fine or maybe very slightly below average for Lowry and the Raptors. Lowry should just keep on doing what he is doing in game 1 as the Blake Murphy article indicated. The Lowry dream scenario solution is an open unrestricted "try anything" multi-pronged-point-guard/forward, run-and-gun offense similar to the Lowry+(Bench) offense before Ross got traded. Casey will never allow that though. That is what Lowry is clamouring for. He wants himself and Derozan to QB the offense the way Lowry and Joseph quarterbacked the Lowry+Bench offense from November 10 until Ross got traded. Again, Casey will never agree to this.

I would be more surprised if you said Toronto will win tonight after how Game 1 looked...MIL has longer players and they dictated matchups while playing the way they wanted in the 2nd half. The best way to stretch the defense is with screens (the pick and roll being maybe the best sort). I haven't watched much of Lowry, but it seems like he is getting help defense off the PNR and is hesitating, giving the defense time to adjust. Sure it could be sometimes, but not really in this case. Toronto was last in the league in assist-percentage for the season. They also did not do nearly enough passing to win the game against the longer players Milwaukee has. The Bucks defensive strategy was to try to trap Lowry(or ballhandler) and the best way to beat that is by good passing. When a defense tries to trap a player in the high PnR, the correct play is for the big to stop rolling to the basket and just sit around the top of the free-throw arc where he can get a pass from the ball-handler. Ideally you want this big setting the screen and eventually getting the pass to be a good passer himself (think Boris Diaw) so that he could then find the open man or take the shot himself. If they play this correctly and start the passing-chain, it should minimize the length-advantage that Milwaukee has in being able to get back to the other guys after trying to trap Lowry. Honestly though, it's a really tough series for Toronto and this was only part of the problem. Will they play Poetl, who might be their best passing-big just for this? Will they play Patterson more, even though the stretch-the-court advantage he gives is minimized somewhat by the lengthy lineups the Bucks used the 2nd half? Only thing for sure is that Lowry has to play better than in G1 for them to have a chance. Really like this series. All 3 series today really.

If the Clippers lose this series to a no-Gobert Jazz, Doc & all 15 Clippers players should get lifetime bans from the NBA.

IT is the only one making shots, and even if you think Wade and Rondo are turning it up for playoffs Portis and Zipser have both had huge games, and haven't been that good in the regular season. Some of their difficulties are to be expected (rebounding), but some of it seems like they badly need to make adjustments (Robin Lopez shooting 70+% on midrange shots)

Boston is 14-18 against teams above .500 with the 14th win against an Atlanta team resting its players during a meaningless game on the final couple of days of the year. How can Boston only play 32 games in an 82 game season against teams above .500? Easy, they're in the Atlantic Division.

Lowry had to play better no matter what, that was never in question. And we didn't mention on here about the defensive adjustments (ISO defense and transitional defense, carroll on gianis, etc) which was probably the top thing they had to improve on. Plus the whole team just shot better. With that said, I didn't get to watch the game (too early). I agree with dystopia, a little of both, but honestly not all that surprising (I thought it was one the more even series). Butler is the best player in the series and like I said before, that can't be underestimated. And with the days-in-between playoff games, Wade can play like the 2nd best for a few minutes a game. IT of course has a case after Butler and then is Horford, but I have always liked Robin Lopez more than most people. A smart, underrated player that minimizes mistakes. IT on defense is always a mismatch. Boston at home, with their crowd getting anxious, does seem like it made them wet the bed a little too (they are still a pretty inexperienced team).
