Vancouver fuck yeah. First major esports event ever to be held here I think? And that's despite us having 2 of the strongest collegiate teams and a very vibrant LoL community.

Janna and Soraka are pretty good. They win lane by just going even since he's "just" a flash/ult bot (which they both got tools against) if he doesn't get ahead and their kits are a million times better in a low budget lane.

Last time I played against a malz sup I went Sion and it did work out ok.

I mean maybe I'm nitpicking, nobody is showing them in the playoffs or anything. But I feel like not labeling them potential 10th is too high. I think the more realistic outcome is that they aren't 10th and not playoffs. They definitely don't look like playoffs material from the information we have, but I'd find it somewhat surprising to see them 10th. There's going to be at least 1 team that implodes and the synergy/haicalls should have them edge out dysfunctional teams. I'd be surprised if there wasn't one this season. I'm expecting them 8th or 9th.

Nobody is bad, they're just decent at worst.

I wouldn't be surprised if UBC is so strong because it's power by Asians. UofC is getting more and more maybe with a Korean exchange they could take down UBC. Do California schools (where I believe there are more Asians in the states) do well? Or am I competly off base with the whole Asians better at video game thing

1) The is not spell cast cancelling correct? Once the animation for the spell starts, its gone? 2) Using Lux's ult as an example, do opponents see the indicator of where she is aiming when casting? Does it matter if Lux is out of vision or in vision? Related to Q1, you cant restart the energy gathering and aim somewhere else right? 3) For "when in Jungle" effects, what counts as jungle? Any are thats not lane? Does river count? Or do you need to be engaged with Monsters? Learned something yestersday while playing some bots for exp. Fountain in LoL is a lot stronger than Dota.

Some spells' channeling is actually a wind-up time (Vi's or Varus' q, I'm not sure how Sion's qualifies), and can be interrupted by the player (usually for a (partial) mana refund) or by cc, in which case it usually goes on a shorter cooldown (rooting Vi during her wind-up will put it on a 3s cd). Most spells simply have an animation and it won't stop unless the character dies (and even then, for some), you can't cancel the upswing either (not sure about the backswing, that's another topic entirely). In Lux's case, only death will stop it once you confirm the cast, and yes everyone can see the red "pointer" before the ult goes off, even in the fog of war I believe, to avoid getting sniped from 3k range without the ability to react (most stuff has cues, either the projectile like for Nidalee's spears, travel time for Ezreal's/Ashe's ults, range indicator for Jhin/Xerath).

I understand what you're trying to get at and no it's not that surprising that Asians are good at the vidya gamez. Fountain in LoL is a lot stronger than Dota. l0l, you ask some pretty weird questions. As in, for a person whose doto experience is a distant memory, you're thinking of things that doesn't even cross the mind of a lot of League players. 1. For all intents and purposes, there is no spell cast cancelling. If you're chasing after an enemy champ and they're outside of cast range, spell is still in queue until they get into range. There's some stuff that Adrian Riven does that is Flash Cancelling but 99% of player population doesn't know about it, much less be able to execute it. 2. For Final Spark, Lux is root while channeling her ulti for that 1s. There is about a half second where you can see where the laser will land, meaning if your the opposing player, you could technically Flash out of the way of Final Spark. Most channeled spells do root the champ that's casting in place. There are minor exceptions, like Camille's Tactical Sweep, where she can move around to aim the cone. 3. "Jungle" is all minions not spawned for lane. Pulling a melee minion into the jungle doesn't sudden make them a jungle monster. Scuttles in the river also count as monsters, not minions. Most item effects that have jungle effects do require to interactive with said monsters. I don't recall any item giving you any sort of benefit just by passively standing in the jungle/outside of lane.

1) I should reword this question since cancelling seem to be the wrong word. What I want to know is if you can use "s" or some other means to stop a spell after you have input the command. Using Ashe's Volley as an example, can you stop it after you press w? Or is it instantaneous and therefore impossible even for the best in the world? Essentially is there an upswing cast animation that can be stopped by the controlling player to reposition the skill? 3) I was asking cause the "Stalker's blade" description says 180% mana regen while in Jungle. I assumed that mean I get that while walking around. Is that the case?

No, in 99% of cases, you can't cancel such skill shots like Ashe W, Ezreal Q, Graves Q, etc. There are some non-targeted abilities like Camille W and Darius Q that has a wind up time/channeling portion to the spell right before actual effect that allows you to reposition the skill but again, you can't cancel the spell once you hit the button. 3. ider Stalker's having a mana regen because it's such a superfluous stat tbh. While I haven't tested it out myself and looked directly at the mana bar, the phrasing does make it sound like you get additional mana regen passively, while standing in the jungle (outside of lane and base). So I stand corrected in the previous post.

Just tried varus Q and s doesn't cancel it, so I'd imagine that's the case with other charge skills as well.

Granted, I usually play mana-heavy junglers, but on the second clear (or any other time you don't have blue) the difference in mana is pretty big. It's huge on a lot of junglers tbh. It's allows you to use something like 100-150 mana per camp without running oom.

+ Show Spoiler + I believe the basic premise was that you'd channel your ult, and then flash to change the direction the character was facing so that you could redirect, and so cause people to dodge incorrectly/not at all. Pretty interesting, but comments seem to say you can no longer do this.
