You had to read the book in the game to somewhat get what it was all about. The new and simpler setting about a prince, who has to reclaim the throne, already sounds a lot better to me. Let's see what they make out of it. Since they are doing an anime and a movie, they do have a lot to tell it seems. The story didn't start out bad but they pushed the characters into such deep shit that there was no way to resolve the story without the help of bullshit deus ex machina stuff that doesn't make sense. I hate stories where the villains are manipulating the good guys and the way to finish the game is for the good guys to continue being dumb. Worst are the games with multiple endings and the "best" ending is locked behind the dumbest decision making possible.

I remember in 2006 they said it shared the same world/universe, and I guess they ended up back peddling and say its a shared mythology not a share universe. I have no idea what the status is now. That's what I was asking earlier, but someone said they scrapped it. I'm glad. I enjoyed XIII to a point, but I thought after a while that they needed to just abandon that whole universe and start fresh. I'm hoping that's what's happening here.

I will wait until it comes out, as always, but FF15 has my attention. Except only japs would ever consider using that song for a series like FF, or any game for that matter. It's corny as all hell, but that obviously never stopped the japs. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

"Unfortunately we weren't able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for 15," Tabata said. "We had to focus on the console version and our goal was to maximise, optimise everything for the HD consoles. Once that's done, then we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options. But right now we aren't decided, we're still considering a lot of things." FF is about the story (always comes first), music, and game play (& graphics, since FF7 i guess...) , it is the complete opposite of the DragonQuest games (old ones anyway), i was a diehard fan of that, until Square completely screw up big time by having this obsession of spending too much on graphics and keep wanting to make this weird ARPG style of gameplay like kingdom heart (to save money or whatnot). And then sakaguchi left and then nobuo decided to make 1 song for ff13, FF is just dead for me. Well, all of that might caused by spirit within in which sakaguchi is at fault on that haha

JPRGs are just anime with lots of numbers and combat. Corny and slightly silly is exactly on point.

Combat as child Noctis was super dull. The actual grown up combat seems like it might end up being fun, although aiming spells felt a bit sluggish.

Final Fantasy 15's Ultimate Collector's Edition doesn't include the game's season pass, Square Enix has confirmed. The Ultimate Collector's Edition, which costs £189.99, includes SteelBook, a Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy 15 Blu-ray disc, and even an exclusive Noctis Play Arts Kai Figure among other things - but not the season pass. There's a lot of attention on Final Fantasy 15's season pass because it looks like it includes significant content: story-based quests that revolve around Noctis' party members. Meanwhile, Square Enix said it's unable to make more of the Ultimate Editions - despite the delay of the game from September to November. Source
