The time has finally come to reminisce on my first mech TvZ game in BW. This game was played on Fighting Spirit quite a while back. I would say that this was one of the most important games that I've played to date in BW because of the various lessons learned. I realized just how strong mech can be in the hands of a good player, just how much positional play it requires and expanded my repertoire of builds in TvZ, a matchup that I've historically stuck to mostly biomech.
The game started off with my opponent being BM as usual:
wow... Fucking BM Malaysians!
I decided to switch things up from my usual bio gameplay and opened up with a 2 factory on close positions (top corners) to teach him a lesson! After managing to survive an early ling bust with little damage taken, I caught my opponent offguard with a vulture runby into his expansion and that is where it all began:

He was down to maybe 10 SCV after the first Muta harass too so...

Nice format by the way.
This was from way back when I would get many bases but only have a few drones at each base : (
It's OK , now that I have learnt my lesson it's been a long time since I've lost to his mech
Big fan is doing a br of an old game because he loses all the recent ones

I'm not sure if this is a serious comment or if the gifs likely didn't portray the situation well enough leading to it but I'll explain why your suggestion doesn't hold much in this game: 1) yes, I reduced his drone count but by comparison, my SCV count was also pretty low and I was still on one base. Keep in mind that I went for a 2 fac so I hurt my economy early on. 2) I lost my whole army (those vultures lol) and was reduced to trying to defend my main with mostly turrets so seeing as I had no army, I had to sit back and defend against his mutalisks. I tried moving out several times (couldn't include in gifs due to upload problems) but he had enough mutalisks to delay this. 3) He was able to put enough pressure and buy time with his mutalisks to allow himself back into the game (droning) while I tried to establish an expansion and a second gas to continue meching.

Haha haha haha haha haha haha haha haha haha
LOL here come the excuses
Yes, this was an old game but it was the first time I meched (as the title stated) so it was worth the BR.
You've lost to my mech plenty of times since, just not as frequently. Last one I remember was on Andromeda and you've lost on Sniper Ridge in a long drawn out game. I've sure there are many others include HBR games but these two are the ones that come to mind just off the top of my head!

lol, love d-matrix. If timed right, it's essentially invulnerability for x hits XD

Bo5 grudge match Mecha BigFan vs JieXian!!!
It's a nice idea but our schedules conflict quite a bit so it's rough to even get a single game going nowadays >< I also don't seem to do well in BW if I know the game is being casted or will be watched (case in point: my big fail against Sent from a year and a half ago lol).
rofl please. That was not admitting defeat at all! It meant that even though I don't do as well in broadcasted games, you'll still lose badly to a subpar playing bigfan!
As for drtl, nice try bringing in my worst game there. You've lost to my 2 raxs, SCV-all ins, 2 fac and all kind of shenanigans, even BCs! lol.
There is something that's always satisfying about winning a TvZ with Mech. It's kind of hard for beginners, so I myself have rarely pulled it off, but when I did, it felt awesome.
[09:24:30] Bigfan: lol please [09:24:32] Bigfan: I never dodged [09:24:37] Bigfan: v1 dodged and JieXian dodged [09:24:39] Bigfan: !!!!! [09:24:46] Bigfan: also, that was a fake BMer [09:24:57] Bigfan: I can't possibly come up with such lines in the heat of the moment!
