i restarted the pc and it works fine now but its still strange cause before restart twitch and audio player worked ok. this dingit service is getting unbearable. (i suppose i should have restated the pesky Octoshapeclient.exe process for it to work again) LMAO, it'd be better if that client closed after not viewing their stupid stream, but it stays resident in processes. I dont trust a program that doesn't close out and keeps running after the fact. same feelings here. i like to keep it simple and clean. this "dingit experience" is just unstable and sluggish. and as for the permanent process... wtf ?!? why dont use native html5 or even flash just like youtube/twitch does... its ridiculous I don't know man, for me it works just fine. I don't say it's better than twitch, but if they keep organizing these awesome events I will keep supporting them. the event is awesome obviously but is it really as fluid as twitch for you ? i have a really strong pc and it lags a lot when its not in fullscreen mode. the animation is not fluid. besides all the heavy interface elements lag a lot (changing the volume, setting quality etc.)
I will admit, having competition is good, but not this way.

I guess it depends. For me Twitch works like shit, and i'm really struggling to watch anything on medium quality. Ding IT however, works like a charm and in quality i can't never experience on Twitch.

I prefer hitbox over dingit as as alternative to twitch. I still watch ding it though because it has a lot of tournaments featuring top and mid tier koreans.

People who are having quality issues, are you using adblock? High quality is locked to people who are watching with Adblock for over 30mins.
RE the application running in the background, all it is doing is being ready to play a stream. Check its resource use and you will see if it is not doing anything when the stream isnt on. We do have something in the works to help this though. As for the trust side, the player is a version of the Infinite HD app from Octoshape who were recently bought by Akamai, one of the biggest CDN's in the world.

Either it is as fluid or I'm not noticing the difference.
