Liquipedia with results etc!I am pleased to announce the $5000, DingIt Invitational Round Robin tournament. With a spectacular line up of players and casters, it is going to be a blast! The games will be played on Heart of the Swarm and not Legacy of the Void Beta - this is as most players are not putting significant amounts of time into the beta yet and we want to maximize quality of play with a large amount of money on the line. With a round robin format, all players will play vs everyone else. The group stage will be all BO3, with the top two players in the group facing off in the grand finals - the player finishing top will have a 1 map advantage. In the event of a tie in the group, first map scores will be considered and then head to head result. + Show Spoiler + DAY 1

I hope the mystery guest is a kespa beast because that's some easy money right now for Parting.
|
Guest Player has been absolutely on a roll lately. I don't see how anyone can defeat him.
|
|
Is ESL/WCS okay with you using their graphical styling? Because that is exactly what it looks like.
|
what if the mystery guest is Has and he's going to cheese out Parting
|
Even for a tournament casted by my all time favorite casting duo I don't think I will install that shady dingit plugin
|
The mystery guest will be Scoobers and everyone will shit in their pants.
|
thats a lot of money thrown at Parting!
|
Announcing the final player: Hydra!!
|
Top 2 should be Parting and Hydra, but maybe Showtime, Bunny or Snute got something to say about this?
|
TaKe said on Stream, that they stream this on DingIt, because DingIt sponsors the Event. This will not mean TaKeTv swaps over to DingIt, it is a sole decision for this event.

Parting's got this EZPZ. The way he is playing last month I would be surprised if he drops more than 3 maps.

Im looking forward to some great games. I love watching bunny play!
Dingit never gave me any problems, i guess om lucky. Last time i watched a stream om dingit it ran smoothly without any problems.

Shame about the sponsorship/stream. Sounds like a good tournament, but I'm not installing something just to watch a stream.

I'm gonna call this ridiculous. I install Dingit a while ago to watch ASL matches, it is completely unintrusive, took a few seconds to get running and the quality is just as good as Twitch.
It literally is clicking 3 buttons, to watch some good matches, so why not?

ha this was actually pretty close, I think Snute should have spined up for the price of a couple of thes lings and mutas

Wait for another round of zerglings would've hold that.

haha Bunny is kind of getting wrecked by Jaedong. Sill not sure if he'll lose.

Jaedong lost too many mutas in the fight and lost the 4th. That was over.

Bunny is quite good at the start of the tvz. His timmings are very good. But his macro and marine split isnt as good as koreans.

The quality of the stream is pretty nice I just hope there's no baidu things mixed :D

bunny going mech and JD doing SH.. guess JD loses

Where can I see the results?

Yeah and that was really enjoyable match to watch. Interesting build and decision making by Snute.

Well I have to admit as much as every hates on dingit if they keep putting out quality tournaments like this they might start getting more ppl to watch. At the very least more money in the scene is never bad. I downloaded the app and I have had no issues so far...

Snute wrecked PartinG with flying locusts.
I didn't watched the whole game two, but he repeatedly demolished the pocket base of PartinG on Vaani with just a volley of locusts.
Other than that, pretty good games overall.

He's sponsored by DingIt TV. It gets installed quite quickly. It's completely harmless. It's safe to encourage competition in Broadcasting platforms.

I tried dingshit again to watch those games: still doesn't work on linux. Says it's working, no video. I hope that shit dies soon and we can go back to watching twitch (or even hitbox, their mobile app sucks but at least I can watch on my computer).

As I have said before, we have something in the works that may help this, it is still a few weeks away though. Also, have you tried emailing our support team, they may be able to assist you even though linux isn't officially supported.
Finally, you wouldn't go back to watching this on another platform because this event is completely funded by DingIt so wouldn't be happening otherwise

What happens if parting and bunny end up tied at 3-2?
Edit: nvm.
|
"In case of tie, map score is considered first, then head-to-head results", Does this mean you compare the difference in mapwins/losses ( for example 8-6 -> +2) or the amount of won maps first? And if you compare the mapwin/loss differences, is 7-8 better than for example 6-7 because of more won maps, or will head to head result be compared in this case?
|
Number of map wins is what we will be using rather than the difference. If it is still tied then it will head to head result. If it is still tied after that in some 3 way tie, I will curl up in a ball and cry

counting mapwins > won/lost maps-difference is a bit stupid as it means a 2-0 wins is the same as a 2-1 win, but a 0-2 loss is far worse than a 1-2 loss ),= now I have to hope for Hydra to make it 2-0 to help showtime ^^

thanks,
i restarted the pc and it works fine now but its still strange cause before restart twitch and audio player worked ok. this dingit service is getting unbearable. (i suppose i should have restated the pesky Octoshapeclient.exe process for it to work again)

LMAO, it'd be better if that client closed after not viewing their stupid stream, but it stays resident in processes. I dont trust a program that doesn't close out and keeps running after the fact.

same feelings here. i like to keep it simple and clean. this "dingit experience" is just unstable and sluggish. and as for the permanent process... wtf ?!? why dont use native html5 or even flash just like youtube/twitch does... its ridiculous

and do we really have to have this gigantic DINGIT logo on the stream ???

I will say I don't really understand the marketing appeal as a new service. It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense if you're trying to compete with twitch.

I don't know man, for me it works just fine. I don't say it's better than twitch, but if they keep organizing these awesome events I will keep supporting them.

Enjoy having a program run always in your background processes and spying on you and whatever else they are doing when it is running when not viewing their stream, not trustworthy in my experience with shady programs like this. If you want people to be able to spy on you after the program runs? then good on ya, keep viewing, not for me.

the event is awesome obviously but is it really as fluid as twitch for you ? i have a really strong pc and it lags a lot when its not in fullscreen mode. the animation is not fluid. besides all the heavy interface elements lag a lot (changing the volume, setting quality etc.)

besides it seems unstable. it sometimes goes back to windowed mode from fullscreen by itself. it doesnt play well with adblock+ either. i have disabled it for dingit and i got the HD quality but i cant get HD after a restart (it again shows "Subscribe for Better Quality" popup)

I will admit, having competition is good, but not this way.

I guess it depends. For me Twitch works like shit, and i'm really struggling to watch anything on medium quality. Ding IT however, works like a charm and in quality i can't never experience on Twitch.

I prefer hitbox over dingit as as alternative to twitch. I still watch ding it though because it has a lot of tournaments featuring top and mid tier koreans.

People who are having quality issues, are you using adblock? High quality is locked to people who are watching with Adblock for over 30mins.
RE the application running in the background, all it is doing is being ready to play a stream. Check its resource use and you will see if it is not doing anything when the stream isnt on. We do have something in the works to help this though. As for the trust side, the player is a version of the Infinite HD app from Octoshape who were recently bought by Akamai, one of the biggest CDN's in the world.

Either it is as fluid or I'm not noticing the difference.
