Starcraft Jeopardy is a new project from the SC2CTL Team.
There's a lot of interesting Starcraft projects and shows that exist, but most of them are all about playing the game and being directly involved with the game. Talk shows about tournaments, showmatches, etc. I think there's so much more room for growth by branching out into other topics, so I'm doing a trial run!
Full information is available at: https://sc2ctl.com/jeopardy
The game will be run in Jeopardy-style, categories with 5 questions each of increasing difficulty and value, questions are answers, answers are questions, etc.
The first show will be:
Wednesday, Mar 04 2:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
Featuring: Fenner, Winter and Gemini!
The show will be live at http://twitch.tv/sc2ctl

care to explain what jeopardy is to us non-american ?

Jeopardy is a game show that's essentially just trivia questions.
There's a set of categories of questions that are all related in some way to the category. The questions are in ascending difficulty and value, eg. the easiest question is worth 200, a harder one worth 400, etc. From there it's question and answer with the person who was correct getting to choose the next question.
When each question is read there's a "buzzer" - if you buzz in first you get to answer the question.
The gimmick with Jeopardy is that "all questions are answers" and "all answers are questions". So for example, you might pick the category "Protoss for 200". The "question" would be "This protoss unit from the gateway is equipped with Psy-blades" - which you would reply with "What is a zealot?".
The host provides the "answer" and the guests provide the "question" that completes that answer.
There are also special questions called "daily doubles" that allow you to wager any amount of points you've already earned for the chance of doubling them. They make it easier to catch up/get further ahead.
Functionally, though, it's just a trivia game

Jeopardy is a very simple, fast-paced American quiz show. 3 contestants are given 6 categories of trivia, with 5 ascending question values. One player will select a question from the board ("I'll take "Name of category here" for "Question value here"). The question is read out, and the first player to "buzz in" is give the chance to answer. If they were correct, they were give that many poits or dollars and allowed to select the next question. If they were incorrect, they lose that many points or dollars and other contestant may try. After all questions are exhausted, a second round begins with 6 new categories, where all question values are twice they were from Round 1.
There are also 2 hidden "Daily Doubles" in each round. If a contestant finds a "Daily Double", they may wager as many or as few points/dollars as they choose on that question (sight unseen), and they are the only person who may answer that question. Right or wrong, they will still select the next question in that case.
The third and Final Round consists of one single question. The category is shown to the contestants, each of them decide how much they would like to wager (could be everything they have, could be actually zero), and all 3 of them write down their answer to the question in secret, before all of the answers and wagers are revealed and applied. Whomever has the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
The defining character trait of Jeopardy is that all answers must be given in the form of a question. For example, one clue might be "this upgrade is usually the first one researched by a Protoss", the answer would not be "Warpgate", it would be "What is Warpgate?"

Very clear answer, a bit better than mine - but just a small correction. The first round has 1 daily double and the second round has 2 daily doubles

I didn't make the decision lightly, but unfortunately I just couldn't host it at an EU-friendly time.
I try to have the VODs up ASAP after the show so Europeans can watch it the next morning

Looking forward to watching the VODs

This is a fun idea, if I had the spare time I would make you some proper visuals.
Maybe I'll find the time...
Good stuff!

Just watched the vod from the first episode... This was actually hilarious! Will definitely try to tune in live next week!

The show is great. When I saw that the thing was over 40 minutes long I though there's no way I would watch the whole thing, but I did. Can't wait for the VOD of ep 2.

I see a misstake.....

Just watched episode 2, was awesome, though you shuold skip the homo.... category. Was a bit confusing and required knowledged of things unrelated to Starcraft (I had no idea who Nick Rogers was either and I still have no idea what you is meant by Marine Marine).
