Still being optimized. Some people have reported better fps and others have reported worse.
My i7 3770k has always run just fine. It's just my GTX 660 that's bottle necking me but I can play just fine at 1920x1080 at Low/Med settings at about 40 - 60 fps.
Played my first dogfight since last summer, due to the fact that I had no time to play. My god is it better than it was the last time i tried it out. Really smooth fighting, fast paced yet readable. I really like the work they did on the UI. It is sooo much better.
If anyone is up for a little dogfighting together, please pm me. I think it'd be really fun to go killem all with you guys .
EDIT : Or just post it here, so other can find out :p
There was a "townhall" presentation recently in which the developers provided a 'pre-vis' (not sure what that means!) concept video for traversing a wormhole.
I thought you guys might want to check it out as it looks quite beautiful - it starts at 28:20. I think this game is shaping up pretty nicely, still a long ways off, but definitely nice to see good progress every once in a while. Apparently they're also at $71 million in funding, close to $72 now. Its crazy that the funding drive continues in such large numbers, I think its because of the phenomenal advertising job they're doing on their ships, and all of the "sales" (though they stress its to fund the game, almost everyone seems to treat it as a good deal instead! At least that's the impression I get from the forums, its like people can help themselves and have to buy).
Also if you have the time check out some of the old hangar videos, they've done a really beautiful job there too. If nothing else this game will look amazing, I'm just a bit sad that I can't play the game yet because you kind of need a high-end computer to even enter the hangar. That's probably the only part of the game I'm worried about, whether I'll be able to play it at a decent framerate, and what the lag will be like (don't know how graphics will affect all that)
The thing I'm really torn about is how to set up the hotas. I decided already I want to get the Warthog hotas and oculus. I'll probably make like a big heavy pedestal for the throttle and mount the stick to the bucket seat of an old car.
Game is just getting better and better. And the whole thing isn't even released yet. After watching so many kickstarter games crash and burn (with the odd gem doing well) I'm glad I put my trust in Chris Roberts.
Only the gladius has the new damage model. All new ship releases will have it. All currently released ships are being redrawn with the new states and should be finished by the Multi Crew patch in June/July. Tuesday's patch will be the introduction of the gladius and the new damage states.
It's sad that this game's community turned into some bunch of elitist rich guys picking on you because you didn't buy every single ship possible. I'm honestly sorry that I supported this game via Kickstarter 3 years ago, I wish I never did. Yeah, 3 years of wait for nothing. At least I learned to not support any game before they get released tho, that's something.

Can't really blame the game for that, people who risk their money are always looking for validation here and there that they didn't waste it entirely. Circlejerking with other people who risked their money is one way to get that gratification. Are you talking about their official forums? I haven't followed the game closely in a while but I never noticed that type of behavior.
As for your individual support, you can hardly say its for nothing. When you backed the project you must have known how ambitious it is? That it would take a long time to develop? They've periodically released modules that show off the different aspects of the game and from what I can tell they have been fairly well received.
And even if you have a bad experience with Kickstarter, that's hardly reason to swear off the service at all. There are plenty of success stories: FTL, Shovel Knight, Darkest Dungeon, Pillars of Eternity (I hope), etc. The bad comes with the good in crowdfunding, unfortunately.
That said, I have never backed anything on kickstarter because I need my money for other things, but as long as people go in knowing they will may never see a return on their "investment," crowdfunding is fine by me.

There is something to be said when the reddit community is more mannered then the official community. Though I imagine it would change once SC actually gets released. I personally dont mind waiting another year, personally I hate the K+B controls right now (though it could just be me), waiting until I get my oculas and joystick before I start getting heavily involved in the game.
I never lurk the official forums of SC, or of any game really. I prefer to hang with RPG/Sim players i've known for a while, or TL members. It seems that in every single big game (SC2 included), the official forums are riddled with angry kids, which is the main reason i avoid them.

lol what? i'm not sure what you've been reading, but that is not the case at all! the members here don't think like that, the people on facebook don't think like that, the people in the live chat don't think like that. now, there may be a number of people who can afford 1,000's of dollars worth of ships, but they are the minority.
i dunno, it seems like you've been reading some troll threads...you gotta filter that toxic crap out. or even better, just don't read the forums on the rsi website (except for the dev forums). also...i still only have the $60 300i that i pledged for all the way back when this all started.
