But their faith in Blizzard to change the game in LotV and bring something new, exciting and based on the community's feedback is nothing short of amazing. Lets hope they are right...

Eurobow #1 started with a shrewd bracket due to Summer Time mismatches -- yeah, US, what's up with doing it one week later? There were 16 players initially signed up, but only 6 players ended playing in the actual event. In spite of that, it was a fun, sweet and fairly short introduction to the first of many Eurobows. Quarterfinals: + Show Spoiler + Ejwoda vs Mderg battle report: The series started with game 1 on Circuit Breaker. Mderg opted for a forge fast expand and Ejwoda responded with 3 bases before gas. The game evolved into Ejwoda pressuring with early hydralisks which eventually got fended back by mderg’s speedlots. Mderg, feeling bold from holding the hydra pressure then moved out with a zealot and stalker force which was overrun by hydras and zerglings. Ejwoda takes game 1. The next game was Texas, chosen by mderg. Ejwoda played less greedy and stuck with a 2 base play into fairly quick mutalisks. Mderg went for another forge fast expand with twilight counsel before stargate. Mutalisks did a tremendous amount of damage to mderg’s mineral lines and by the time mderg tried to move out with zealot/stalker, there were enough zerglings, lurkers and hydras again waiting for him to push out. Ejwoda too the series 2-0. Franscar vs DeathEnD: Unluckily DeathEnD had many issues with his computer, giving Franscar the win. Kalevi vs Beastyqt: Game 1: + Show Spoiler + Game 2: + Show Spoiler + Game 3: + Show Spoiler + No game 3! Semifinals: + Show Spoiler + Ejwoda vs dirtybag battle report: In game 1, Ejwoda tried to be tricky by going 3 hatches before pool knowling dirtybag’s greedy playstyle. He followed up, however, by adding on the lurker tech instead of mutalisks and was scouted before he could capitalise on the surprise lurkers. Dirtybag countered the lurkers well and went for a strong timing push before Ejwoda had completed his hive. With no dark swarm to protect him, Ejwoda had to gg. The second game, Ejwoda completely switched up his style and went for a 10 pool vs terran. It was unfortunately scouted and Dirtybag walled off with 2 barracks before trying to expand. The zerglings managed to pick off the constructing command center and Ejwoda went for a fast mutalisk transition. Dirtybag defended and defended well vs the zerglings and the mutalisks, and while playing from behind, manage to muster up a big force of marines and science vessels. With this force he managed to break out, pass the lurkers which was set out to protect, and all the way to Ejwodas 3rd base. After losing his third base, Ejwoda did not have enough resources to defend the next push from dirtybag and dirtybag took the series 2-0. Xiphias should probably cast that second game. Franscar vs Beastyqt: Game 1: + Show Spoiler + Game 2: + Show Spoiler + Game 3: + Show Spoiler + No game 3! Finals: + Show Spoiler + Franscar vs dirtybag: Game 1: + Show Spoiler + Game 2: + Show Spoiler + Game 3: + Show Spoiler + No game 3! S: Did you enjoy playing in the Eurobow? F: Yeah, it's fun to have a competitive feel to sbow instead of just balance talk and changes. S: At the beginning of the tournament, did you think you would win without dropping a map? F: Nop, lucky me I suppose. S: Beastyqt felt like your nemesis in Artosis' KotH, how did it feel to beat him? F: Lol, I felt a bit bad because he isn't very up-to-date with Starbow, if he was I'm sure he'd have beat me cleanly considering he's top 50 gm or something. S: What were you thinking going on to the finals? F: Well I play with dirtybag a lot and usually play standard, so I thought I'd go with cheesy builds to surprise him. S: That first game was crazy. Was there any moment during the game that you though it wasn't working out? F: Mmm my idea was to just lurker drop and follow it up with constant units from a nydus, so when he killed the nydus I thought I'd lost to be honest. S: On the second game you ran up to a fast expand with 16 lings. Did you already felt the victory at that moment or did you expect dirtybag to fight until the last unit? F: I guess once I contained him in his main with lurkers I knew it was over, moving down a ramp vs 5 lurkers is damn hard. Once you do zerg probably has the whole map ^_^ S: So, last question. Are you looking forward for more Eurobows? What do you think of having this event on a monthly basis? F: Yeah for sure, I've played in about every little sbow tournament I could, it's pretty fun. Monthly tour could definitely spice things up and draw in more eyes. S: How was the game against Beastyqt? K: Pretty much how I expected it to be. He just owned me hard, although I am satisfied with how the second game went. S: How was the second game, did you try anything special? K: Nope, I just played better. The first game I tried something stupid that would work vs lesser players. The next game I played normal, but beasty is obviously better at that. S: Did you feel somewhat glad the you know had the time to cast? K: Yes, it was quite fortunate that the brackets gave me beasty as the first opponent S: We could all appreciate how much you enjoyed Franscar against Beastyqt. What was that you most liked of that series? K: I like rivalry stories. Franscar and Beastyqt have had some backstory in Starbow. For the games themselves I really enjoyed the second game and how well Franscar controlled his mutalisks and how he was keeping them active. He went for 2 hatch mutalisks. He even skipped speed for a faster lair, then he completely killed the first "push" and kept beasty in his base for a very long time. Then he got his 3rd base up and catched up in missing drone counts and had enough time to get lurkers out, that secured him a lead in this game. I think the mutamicro has improved a lot in Sbow, thanks to decemberscalm amazing editor work. S: All in all, how did you think the tournament pan out? K: Pretty good. It was a bit unfortunate that so many players failed to show up, but thats how it goes with an open tournament I guess. I wish there would have been more close matches, but that is out of the organisers control. S: As a final question. After the first Eurobow, how are you looking forward to next month's and what will you try to improve for it? K: Hmm, good question. So next month Rider will probably casting with Xiphias, so I can spend the entire time playing and doing administrative stuff. I think the next time we shouldn't be so patient with players not showing up. It creates a lot of downtime and players should get used to the minimum of discipline required for a tournament to work.

It is, of course, impossible to say at this point how many of these changes which will actually make it into the game and how much it will impact the game as well. I was trying to find a reliable source, but from what I've heard, it seems that "Legacy of the Void" beta will begin at January 2015. If not, then around that time as signing up for it already is an option. This puts the release date of the actual game sometime between May and Aug 2015, although that is of course speculation, but I think much more certain speculation than we could predict before blizzcon. Some if you have heard me say that we wanted to have Starbow complete and hype it up around the beginning of next year. Myself, Solid, Kalevi, decmeberscalm and tehredbandit just had a skype meeting and discussed what to do about the future of Starbow. We decided that trying to hype up Starbow around January, that is; trying to inform a more general Korean public about this game, would be a bad idea as we would have to compete with a game that is seemingly turning much more into something that is more similar to Starbow than it has ever been before. We will of course continue to work on Starbow, but I am expecting very few players around the beta of LotV and probably also around the release of LotV. We will try to make Starbow as polished as possible while not trying to be too active on the "marketing" part until we feel that it might be worth a shot. That is, if LotV does not become the great RTS it has potential to be or if people are just generally getting tired of it. Don't get me wrong. We will finish Starbow. We will get to a point where Starbow feels playable, polished, translated to Korean, with a working ladder which is based website based and works for all regions. But we won't try to compete with LotV for players, especially at times where players are likely to be drawn towards LotV. Those times being the beta time and release time with some months following the release time. Overall though, I am not looking at this as bad news. The good news, imo, is that LotV seems to be turning SC2 into a game that may have learned something from Starbow. So in a sense, Starbow has already accomplished something already. Although Starbow was never made to try to change SC2, there would never have been a Starbow if SC2 was a game which Kabel and others enjoyed playing as much as BW. Sorry if my paragraphs are poorly written, it is getting late at night for me.
