SoS went to Toronto, the result was he was jetlegged most of the time in Toronto, and back when he was playing ro16 group he was still jetlegged. I'm sure some people can adapt better, but most of the time the jetlegged will affect them one way or another. In GSL and proleague due to the really high standard, most players chose not to participate in other foreign tourneys. Occasionally, once the they are out of GSL or Proleague, they have more time to participate in foreign tourneys. Best example is Solar, Stork, Life and Hero. When they are out of GSL and proleague, they start to join other tourneys. Solar able to join RBG, IEM Shenzhen. Life at IEM Toronto. If Zest and Flash group was up right after IEM Toronto, I doubt they would go. That's why it's really hard to see players like Maru, Soo, Soulkey, Parting (even Flash only seen once this year) at foreign tourneys, as GSL and Proleague alone already exhaust them.

He won't be playing anything huge for a while... so he has time to practice. Hope he dominates next year!

As much as I hate to say it, perhaps Maru has to play more standard so he can surprise again? I don't know how this game works, but every time the greatest players get into some kind of "slump" although he surely still wins against most opponents. I kind of feel he's hyper-aggressive and so other players know that and just set up the most solid defense they can.
