H2H ignores how dominant or one sided the wins and losses were throughout the season, basically disregarding those games to determine the tiebreaker. Map scores neglects that head-to-head record. Sometimes, players or teams are made to play a deciding match to determine who advances, but previous H2H is a shortcut of it since the match was already played. Both have flaws. What I stated above is a simple comparison. But really, you will never find one that everyone will be happy with. It is up to the tournament organizer to decide which they prefer to use.

Well, in this case they imitate record, which is a measure of general wins, without specific weight put to wins against any one team. Maps reflect the same mindset. H2H is intuitively appealing because it shows who won when they were put against each other but is not an unweighted measure of amount of wins. Oh, don´t get me wrong, I´m against H2H as a tie-breaker in general, if you would ask me everything should be decided by map-score (differential) or an actual tie-breaker match. It´s just, that map wins without higher map difference are even worse. Winning more matches than someone else (unweighted against who) is generally better for you, since every team plays exactly 9 matches per season, so more wins equals less losses. But maps don´t do the same, as you also lose more, when using number of won maps with the same map differential as the tie-breaker. If one team goes 6-0 and another one goes 12:6, the tie breaker, which is used, to put TL ahead of mouz, says that 12:6 would be better, although the team A in this example is undefeated and has a 100% win ratio. Anyway, ATC did a good job in getting rid of dumb rules after season one, I have faith in the admins, that they do a good job in season two as well.

I mean these teams play for 2 months and are on the same match-score and map differential. Why not let them play for 3 more hours to determine a playoff spot, which is worth 2k. It seemed to work for Blizzcon and noone really complained there.

Head-to-head 4. Then all the other weird criteria Between more than two teams head-to-head expands into a mini league that compares the stats in matches between tied teams. E: lichter, it's not that we don't want map score (=map difference). We don't want map wins before H2H.

I am not personally invested in either team so my opinion isn't colored by bias. It is just my preference for long seasons with many games.

DH, ASUS, HSC not saying they are bad tournaments, but he has a hard time winning the most stacked tournaments. Thus the low career winnings despite the number of wins. Well JD does not have even those 2nd tier wins does he? :D

I would say that HerO kind of tends to underperform in team leagues though compared to his individual performances at least. I think he was only like 7-6 in this league not saying he's bad, just saying he doesnt seem to play at his full potential
