Wish there was more than two seasons. Have you tried Monster? Last I checked it was on Netflix. It's not quite as great dubbed but it's still one of my favorite shows.

A bit off topic I know, but considering the obvious heavy mecha influence, for those of you who have seen it (or the promo materials I guess), how do you think the robot designs measure up? I know we have a handful of mecha snobs in here. The designs were decent enough, + Show Spoiler + although the three armed one was seemingly the most redundant third arm on anything made of metal ever. Granted I dont get a boner when I see mechs I like so I wont be the best judge but aside from the insistence on having nearly all the major action happen in the dark I dont have much to complain about.

Oh, Okay. Stuff I like (if I had a MAL I would give them a 10 but I don't have a MAL) in no particular order: Eva, original and rebuild, first anime I watched. Mushishi, all together just a great show, plus pretty landscapes. Texhnolyze, I don't know, but it was really good. Shinesekai yori, don't know exactly why I liked this so much, but it did have pretty landscapes! Also Gurenn Lagann and Haibane Renmei are good shows I finished recently so I'm not sure if they make it into my "top shows" yet. And two shows which I will definitely watch at some point are Monster and Legend of Galactic Heroes. There you go. Thanks for any recs.

Otherwise, Paranoia Agent and Kino no tabi are good choices like CSheep said Well, I find out about all the shows I watch from this thread so I guess you guys are doing job then lol. I can watch less serious stuff too I guess, I mean I've seen Melancholy of Haruhi and enjoyed it a lot. Actually can't think of too many other comedic shows I've seen, though Gurenn Lagann was kind of funny. Edit: Thanks for the recs, but damn Paranoia Agent looks hard core, just read a preview thing for it.

Honestly if you like what people give you hear you can just play around with the chart. Most of the shows their have generally enough people who like them enough to put them there, Asking for reccs is nice and all but I personally find it more entertaining to just watch whatever and if it turns out to be something I dont like, well then its just a matter of whether I have enough time to kill, or well ... had.

I know we have a handful of mecha snobs in here. The overall mecha designs seemed fine, tended towards the realistic/functional part but were overall distinctive and coherent. However, the weaponry design and selection was pretty awful and nonsensical.

Mushishi and Texhnolyze are my #1 and #2 favourite anime. :D What I could recommend is: Any of Satoshi Kon's works (like Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Paprika) Serial Experiments Lain Ghost in the Shell Kino no Tabi Colorful Aria Natsume Yuujinchou Hotarubi no Mori e And put aside from the rest, Kaiji. Can't go without recommending that to anyone who wants a rec!

Like the monogatri season 2 is like airing RIGHT now right? Or do you guys just know Japanese. Takes from a few hours up to a day for most shows to get subbed.
