Hi guys, 2013 is the game of the CCG's and I would like to try one becouse I want to take out my LoL obsession.
What I like for a CCG card: - RPG stuff. - Raids/Guilds/Team Games. - Campaign/PvP modes. - Loot (defeating a boss for example). - Leveling up. - Dungeons and Dragons lore (paladin, orcs, archers, etc)
What of the whole new CCG games do you reccomend me to play? (HEX, Hearthstone, forge, Scrolls, etc)

If you're talking about the upcoming digital CCGs, It's hard to judge since most of them aren't out yet. Even for the ones in beta that have info about their basic gameplay, it's still not all that easy to decide since a lot of CCG gameplay is how the designers use the design space available to them to make interesting cards and interactions, not just the core mechanics.

I tried Scrolls and the Might and magic CCG and I liked both of them. They both have DnD-like lore but don't feature much else from your list. Here's a list of what I remember from these games.
Scrolls : - Fairly large grid to play on - Unit/Structure placement is very important - Unit attacks and abilities use a cooldown system - Trading! - No loot (gold rewards to buy booster packs) - No raids/guilds or team games - Has about 20 challenges (campaign), then it's PvP
Might and Magic : Duel of Champions - Smaller grid - Similar to Magic the gathering (more than Scrolls) - No trading - No loot (again, gold rewards) - No raids/guilds or team games - Short tutorial campaign, then PvP Ladder - Multiple tournament types
That's pretty much it. I'm looking forward to HEX, it looks like it could have more elements from your list.

Hex has most of what you asked for

I also want to play a good and free CCG or TCG. I played Duel of champions for a week.It seems a bit luck based. Most good cards are rares and epics and farming them is very difficult and boring. Its ladder is fun until you match much better decks than you and you have like zero chance beating them with your cards. And it takes months farm to get perfect deck you want.
|
You're right, Duel of champions does have too much farming, which makes building the deck you want kind of random. Scrolls has a trading system though, should help with that. I've been looking for a good online CCG with 2v2s or any other team based game modes, HEX might have that I don't know.

Yeah, it seems that I have to wait for Hex. Is a shame i did not donate to get early beta access

You can still donate to the slacker backer option.

i just picked up scrolls a few day ago. Very addicting game and definitely recommended. They are updating the game this weekend too with replay function. This game could become the next competitive game title in video games tournaments if mojang play their cards right.
I think it also a great bridge to prepare you for Heartstone since the gameplay looks similar.

it's a shame scrolls card art is so ugly and childish. That's what refraining me from trying

I bought Scrolls. Then I got really mad and deleted it. How can you justify charging $20 for a game AND including microtransactions for EVERYTHING? You don't earn currency in it near fast enough to be worth playing it F2P (especially as if you don't like your starter deck choice you're screwed). Those card games work if they're F2P or B2P with a decent ingame income. It basically wants to squeeze you for as much money as other low quality Digital CCGs, but charges you up front for the initial priviledge.

Yep, as already said, HEX seems for you, assuming it keeps its promises. Otherwise, some other good CCGs to look out for:
- Hearthstone - MTG: Duel of the planeswalkers 2013 (june 26 iirc)

This thread is really outdated, so I figured I'd refresh things a bit....
If you're looking for good tabletop CCG's, there's obviously going to always be the big 3-Yugioh, Pokemon, and obviously Magic. They each have their pro and cons, but I never liked any of them.
I'm more into the more strategy-based games like UFS: Universal Figthing System or L5R. Way more fun, and UFS is always changing with the licenses they get, so it doesn't get boring.
|
Yugioh is still that popular? used to love that shit 15 yrs ago, some cunt kid stole my blue eyes white dragon at school T.T
Still pick the handheld games up almost yearly ever since and play them, such good fun.

Hex. It's still in closed beta though, and has been for a long time. But it looks like they're finishing up the engine (the majority of the work), so it's actually picked up steam and should be open beta soon.
I play hex regularly. hearthstone is boring as shit, way too simple.
I am sure that other CCGs are good too, but it sounds like you are wanting MMO aspects, and that's what hex is. It's basically MMO MTG.
Also, hex is actually a TCG not just a CCG.
Oh geeze, didn't realize this was necrod. lol

Strong necro
I want to play Hex... but no invite

LCG options = Android: Netrunner, Sentinels of the Multiverse are both quite popular. Theres always games like dominion, summoner wars (mage wars? forgot the name)
