Plan was to look absurdly townie early and hope to draw medic prots or make myself seem like a good target for medic prot night one and two. I WIFOM'd a bit about protection for this reason the first two nights. Not sure if it worked or not cause i haven't read the scum QT yet. around the end of the BH lynch i thought it was very likely that he was going to flip town but at that point I changed my plan from winning with town to winning with scum. I started to be useless so that I would be less of a threat and hopefully dodge night kills if I had to survive past night four when I couldn't hide any longer.

So yeah I guess I can't say I've never been scum/never lied anymore; Prom says my town game is rightly fucked now so we'll see. this

Well hopefully it just means people stop taking me so lightly DP yeah you effectively WIFOMed us (me?) off of killing you N1. I wanted you gone but we were worried about protection on you and marv basically all game. It's funny how that worked out; I had you two pegged as the two strongest townies (with iamp as close second--grats to the rest of my scumteam for being around before deadline on that one) yet you were both left alive until the end.

This scum team did an excellent job of being town read, WoS and Vayne both did excellent jobs matching their town metas (good luck in the future guys) and Dan's SK claim worked surprisingly well. Jarjar managed to stay right on the egde of suspicion for the whole game and it worked. Town, as a whole, was underwhelming. The power role usage was awful. BH didn't use his masoning ability in any real way, Iamp used his well but claimed it like a jubjub. Stutters use of JK wasn't bad per se but it didn't do anything to protect from night kills and Spicy was RB'd night one and subsequently murdered. A big part of the uselessness of the power roles was Vayne's excellent blue sniping. He picked out Spicy on the lack of a roleblock claim and Stutters on activity. Big shout out to him for that. The goal of the set up was to give town 3 mislynches which would become 4 if JK saved a shot or 3p hid. I wanted to make sure that town relied on analysis over balance speculation; masoners had the chance to have a great impact on the game but ended up each only using their power once the argument that both masoners couldn't be town was bad. Never assume that scum and town have mirror roles. I also RNG'd the playerlist and it went rather well. There were four newer players versus a pretty experienced town and did a fine job of fooling them. WoS cried a lot in the scum qt about how they were going to lose to the marv/bh/dp/iamp/everyone town, I think its important to remember that 1) everyone can have an off game (as both BH and marv kindly demonstrated) and 2) being newer is often an advantage when you are scum. There are a lot of us that when we have off games look like scum (again BH/marv here were suspected not because they looked particularly scummy but because they weren't playing up to a level we'd expect them to be playing). DP's role was the one I was least sure of and I'd like the most input on. Originally I had him as a simple 3p survivor but after doing some deep thinking/reading up on it I decided that was a little boring on its own. I gave him the two shot commuter ability so that he would have to be paying attention to the thread and figuring out if he was going to be investigated/night killed on a particular night. He took big risks not using his power night one and two (even more so since he thought marv was scum) but they payed off in the end. I'm sad no one but Iamp/marv used the flavour to figure anything out. Every blue/red was given a VT pm and none of them took advantage of it. Every green was a separate identity and no one did anything with this. Now, the game wasn't breakable by flavour but it was a component that no one touched and it was a component that came with music. The only mention of it, one I thought was a big deal, was in the Imp/marv mason chat where marv correctly identified the flavour reasoning behind the masoner and that scum were given fake VT claims. Here is the spreadsheet for your consideration as well: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuuykDg6K9RhdE1pVVFBZ0c2TTQ4bWY4VWJERm9yMEE#gid=0 I hope you all enjoyed yourselves, thanks for playing the game and, once more, thanks to my wonderful co-host who did everything for me.

I considered using my VT claim Prom but my issue with that was concerns about the closed setup and assuming scum also had safe VT claims. I couldn't work out how to work it in without implicating myself as having additional info. Since town doesn't know about safe claims it probably would have come off as blue fishing. I also know very little about les mis, it's like the one musical I actually never got into so I wouldn't have been able to figure out much anyway :p Thanks for hosting Prom&Co, you guys were really quick on vote counts and responding to PMs, very much appreciated.

Even with giving him commuter powers, survivor is still not that fun to play. And by making him a 2-shot commuter, you take an already sort of easy role and make it even easier. Now some of it obviously depends on who the player is that gets the role. VE would probably lose every game he rolls as survivor, but the average player probably has a chance of winning that's much higher than 50% with that role. In my opinion, the easiest way to make a third party role that's interesting to play as is to make sure that they have some sort of investment in the lynch, beyond just not getting lynched themselves.

I don't think of Survivor as a boring role, but I don't think being a commuter is necessary. I think it's better to offer Survivor this choice at game start: he can choose to either be 1-shot bulletproof, or return green to DT checks for the rest of the game. This is less flexible than 2-shot commuter but slightly more reliable, and lets the Survivor pick a "style" to play for the game.

I just read this post by Marv near the end of the game....would have helped us a TON in LXI. You are a Townie in three-player LyLo with two other players who have cross-voted - who you vote for will decide the game. One of them has looked moderately scummy throughout the entire game and appeared to fly under the radar, while the other one has for the most part looked extremely pro-Town throughout - enough to make you wonder why they were never targeted by a night kill. Who should you vote for? Caveat: A surprising proportion of the time, the correct answer is to lynch the one who looks extremely pro-Town. Maybe Geript wasn't exactly playing pro-town but he was seen as unanimously town in everyone's eyes which more or less amounts to the same thing. Anyway /tangent If you haven't signed up for Roulette yet, DO EET
