Things I want to see at this IEM:
No all-Korean finals. Curse to at least take 1 game in their group stages. Yellowstar+nRated to smash Woong+Lustboy (unlikely, even though Woong tends to get carried by Lustboy in lane). I hope Yellowstar is still comfortable with nRated, they had great synergy (inb4 Leona lanes!).
Predictions:
Group A: Blaze M5. MYM could upset M5 I think, but the odds are too low for me to take that bet.
Group B: Fnatic Frost. Pretty much no contest really. Both teams should be miles ahead of the other two.
Bracket stage I would like to see Fnatic-Blaze and M5-Frost. Blaze-M5 or Fnatic-Frost finals would be nice.

Yellowstar/nRated facing Woong/Lustboy is unlikely, considering how Lustboy is on Blaze, and Woong on Frost. Woong might get carried by Madlife, though.
If Yellowstar focuses on LoL completely now, I can see nRated/Yellowstar becoming the strongest bot lane outside of Asia (again?!), and within top 3 bot lanes worldwide. Remember, Yellowstar was known as the "Chinese gold farmer", and the most mechanically sound AD carry during Season 1 - I definitely hope he can get back to that state!
Eh, Doctorbeat, better get back to research Yellowstar placed second at S1 finals, playing for aAa. nRated, at that point, was a member of SK, who didn't even make it to the S1 finals.

Derp. I always get those two confused ><
Yeah that's why I'm hoping that Fnatic bot lane will win vs Frost. nRated and Yellowstar have played with eachother before, and both won Season 1. That Leona Corki was so terrifying back when they popularized it. Fnatic has great players in every role, and top and mid can rival with Frost too. I'd rate CloudTemplar above Cyanide, but xPeke and SoaZ can probably manage Rapidstar/Shy.

Groups are pretty heavily favored to be M5+Azubu and Frost+Fnatic but it only takes 1 upset game to throw everything out of whack and send someone else up. I'm really interested in these 4 power teams going up against each other though. Bracket stages will all be "do not miss this"

If you see their matches on ipl5 they prefer to passive safe farm vs tpa and that cost their games. They dont theorycraft anymore pick copies the chinese and the koreans, their playstyle is complete different from 3-4 months ago. If they dont win this or at least get in the finals, i think its the end for them. I feel EU teams are falling more behind and withing 5-6 months the only teams that can compete with the Korean teams is the Chinese/taiwanese teams.
The reason why i think they will be inrelevant on season3. GG/ex-m5 dont have gaming house, i doubt they are getting one as Alex is married.
Isnt it mandatory for teams who are in season 3 to play in the stadium what is in Cologne?

Yerrowstar. Go go asian rice farmer.
In all seriousness, I'm hoping to see if he can fill Rekkles' spot as AD. He used to be pretty damn good in S1, but slacked a lot in S2 and became shit. Back in the days during S1, was all about the EU ADs in CandyPanda, LamiaZealot, and YerrowStar.

IEM is M5's playground or what ever they are called now, though i like Curse i don't think they have what it takes to win vs Azubu and former M5. Also MYM at there homeland can't take them lightly, it would not suprise me if they manage to take 2th place somehow.
Group A is gonne be such fun :D
Group B seems alot more easy to predict Frost and Fnatic are clear favorites.

I really hope Gambit steps up and show their fans that they can still compete. Lately they've seen rather sloppy, especially Genja but overall they can be a terrifying force mid-game, something i hope to see.

I really think what's lacking right now in EU/NA is strategies. Like remember that Dyrus scandal where he leaked Dignitas' strat to clg.eu or whatever?
Yeah, that was him being like "Oh yeah, they might bruiser mid" and Dig was like "how can you leak our only strat!"
How are you going to be a top team with one fucking strategy LOL
Also coordination, but that's not as big of an issue, I think.

Its funny because all these 3 had the same problem: not comitting enough time to LoL. Maybe its because of studies or whatever. But its a good thing for LoL that players dont stay at the top if they dont put in the hours.
Now its new AD players that are at the top, like Rekkles, Creaton and maybe Arthana. Unfortunately none of those will be in Katowice.

Link to my preview of IEM Katowice, that I wrote mostly today, so it certainly isn't as good as my IPL5 preview (for those of you that remember that.) Nonetheless it should be an enjoyable primer for the epic action that we will get this weekend.
Looking forward to it!

apparently the seats were completely filled to the roof 80 minutes before the event even starts you have my respect katowice.
I think about 2000 people on a friday afternoon is not too shabby ( for both LoL and sc2)
Tournament starting in 10minutes with M5 vs Azubu Blaze holy shit. sick opening match.

The thing is m5 never lose a IEM in the past year

pretty sick how IEM gets 40k viewers before the games even starts and OGN averages/peaks at 10k/15k mostly
I guess either the client ad really helps alot of people just don't like to see high level play @ oGn, not that this IEM is bad in terms of attending teams.

OGN is getting watched more by the asian audience, they have other streams where they view it, whereas IEM/MLG etc are more western based and thus get more twitch viewers.
In other news, polish is hard to understand

So many people there already
