I think the same applies with race, as politically incorrect as that might seem. It's only natural, after all. That makes no sense, I'm wondering if you're actually trolling with this post, your example is beyond politically incorrect. You're basically saying that since the majority of black people are "bad", it's natural to shy away from them even though a specific one of them might be "good". Sounds like a big racist stereotype to me.

Yeah, but he said "you see a poisonous snake", not "you see a snake and you're afraid it could be poisonous".

Sounds like a big racist stereotype to me. Maybe you view racism as a mindless, pointless and delusional hatred, like a phobia, but you may also think of it like a generalisation, where you project the perceived characteristics of the group onto one individual. In this case blacks have a bad reputation especially in the developed world, and I'm afraid it is well deserved. Racism can have many facets, like for instance in my country we have a very good opinion about Germans, try to think how this can be racist. Most discrimination today is based on generalisation, and irrational hatred is almost out of the picture. Therefore we need to focus on not letting statistics and anecdotal experience(this is what prejudice is btw) influence our assessment of an individual we have just met. Even if this is absolutely normal.

For all its worth, your brain sees him in a different tribe of sorts, and if she is attracted to him, that diminishes the value of your tribe in your uncontious. My 2 cents, I actually am a psychology student but thats all opinion LOL come on seriously now... I am black and my wife is Korean. Her parents and her brother treat me with respect and kindness. Her parents are not scared of us having kids. They both want me and her to have kids and later show them. Maybe I will get lucky and have a daughter that resembles Crystal Kay or Amerie. If I had a daughter with a boyfriend or fiance I honestly would not care his race. As long as he promises to take care of her. Fathers like to protect their child, but it is their choice to make. You can only make suggestions, not force. OP just try and reason with your sister about her boyfriend selection. Also we are all racist. In some shape or form we get caught doing it.

That's the whole point of my blog post. Of course everyone should be treated equally. It's just not as easy as saying you are not a racist. As I have learned over the past few days. The subconscious mind is a strange thing. And just ignore the trolls, dont feed them. :D Have a great day everyone, off to work,..
