Introduction:
My name is Iain (E-en for people with trouble pronouncing it since my name is an extended version of Ian, but mine is an Irish form of Ian) and I go by the name as 'Giga' online.
I was introduced to SC2 early in the Beta and really got into it when I started to watch Huskys first HDH Invitational. I then proceeded to buy the game after whining to my mum to take me shopping so I could buy SC2.
I started out SC2 with the knowledge of around 10 youtube videos worth of knowledge and no previous RTS experience other than Halo Wars on the Xbox 360 ^.^
I went on to play my very first 1v1 game, only to be completely destroyed by a top tier silver league player who rolled over me with an abundance of cannons right outside of my base. I was so distraught, and still recovering from Post-Cannon-Rush stress disorder, also disliking the idea of 1v1 since I only really played team focused games on the Xbox and the occasional game on steam, so I decided to play 3v3.
After a while, a few weeks to be precise, I got really bored with the game and left the game, only to gather virtual dust until the summer of 2011.
In 2011, towards the end of the summer holidays, I was immensely bored and decided to watch some SC2 VOD's which reignited the love I had one year ago for SC2. Here on out I played the rest of the summer away on SC2, reaching High plat as zerg, beating low masters players at my best. I then stopped playing for a while because my computer just couldn't even support SC2 as my graphics card was the second worst GeForce graphics card available. After all, it had been through 3 years of low quality texture gaming and 480p youtube videos.
Now only recently have I been able to aquire a new computer, in which I was able to play SC2 again and watch 1080p videos aswell as the ability to stream! Something I never would of expected.
Since I returned to SC2, I switched to Protoss, and have improved my rusty mechanics and have attained a mediocre platinum player status within a couple of weeks.

Main Topic:
Now into the main point I wanted to focus this blog on. eSports, As well as the obvious aspiration which I'm sure me and many others have, which is to become pro! I want to soon be able to attend LAN's and compete in online tournaments whilst not getting completely destroyed...
From this, I thought the best thing to blog about would be my progression in this dream/aspiration of mine and I will continually update the community of TL with my progression in this eSports dream of mine for those who take an interest in my blogs. I also, hopefully, one day will reach the skill level of players like Naniwa or Hero and will be able to compete professionally whilst still showing successful runs in tournaments like MLG, Dreamhack etc. Then penultimately, GSL which I'd be able to blog about ^.^ !!
I guess this should wrap up everything I wanted to say for my first blog post, I hope it was enjoyable to read at the very least and maybe you'll want to carry on reading future blog posts from me, for now though, goodbye!
