They wernt like "lets make our stream less popular by hosting it this particular weekend". You could as well ask why MLG is hosting the same weekend as IEM given how in advance these tournaments have to get plans started

All of them said Korean as a placeholder on the group reveal show. Source? (Not that I don't believe you, and I sure as hell would love to believe you).

(Not that I don't believe you, and I sure as hell would love to believe you). It's actually a Chinese player. Source: http://news.replays.net/page/20110928/1616205.html The Chinese player "Comm" won a small qualifier and has *earned* that slot in Group C. The reason why it isn't set in stone is because he has not obtained his visa yet. Should he be successful in his application, he should be in Group C.

This player is likely gonna get replaced due to visa or travel issues, because having a newer Chinese player travel on a few weeks notice is unlikely to work.

Likewise esl isnt just sc2. They probably get a higher percentage of their viewers from other games than mlg do at a relatively educated guess now that they have LoL. That MLG would be concerned about competition isnt something I suggested either, I was just stating from a spectator point of view that we ought not be critical of IEM's choice of weekend when very few people are critical of MLG's
