October 13-16th @ New York Comic Con

Group A
(T)SjoW
(Z)Killer
(P)Attero
(P)SangHo

Group B
(T)Strelok
(Z)StrifeCro
(P)Gatored
(Z)DongRaeGu

Group C
(P)MaNa
(P)TT1
(T)Pokebunny
(T)TOP

Group D
(P)elfi
(P)Axslav
(T)Edge
(Z)FruitDealer

Just announced on a show @ esl.tv

Korea/Europe probably gonna take 1/2 in every group honestly. I'd say group B is the toughest, Gatored has really strong PvT and could definitely steal a win from qxc or Strelok. Also, qxc vs Strelok could definitely go either way, so this group is the most up in the air for me. Group D is easiest imo, but C isn't too scary either. Group A KiLLeR could definitely take SjoW with some good play, but I wouldn't expect it... tough group for Attero, KiLLeR and SjoW are both excellent vs Protoss.

Wow only one zerg o.o (excluding koreans). Relatively even looking groups, B might be toughest.

I feel like the EU invites are favored in each group, although Strelok/qxc and Elfi/Axslav are pretty damn close...

Korean invites will probably own every group though.

Wow, Kind of an underwhelming lineup. Without seeing particular Korean invites, I'd have to give the edge to MaNa. The best players there are terrans and he's been exceptional in that matchup most of his career. Wouldn't be surprised if the Korean invites were Terran, as well.

Isn't this Elfis first big LAN? You need experience to play well in LAN events too.

Plus, he's not only playing against Axslav but the whole group. Never heard of this Edge guy though.

Elfi is definitely favored over Axslav... hugely.

Elfi qualified and is going to IEM China this weekend as well.

Hopefully the Koreans will be Terrans. After all the 2nd and 3rd finises MaNa had recently, he really desereves a Premier Tournament victory. If the Korean Invites are not so strong (or are mediocre S-terrans, with bad vP (MaNa) or vT(Sjow)), this is Europes tournament to dominate. I am really looking forward to the SotG-Edition after the Tournament, if this is the case.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure PuMa will be at MLG Orlando as he's seeded into Pool B, this list seems inaccurate.

You sure?
JYP, Revival and Puma are already going to IEM Guangzhou (Jinro is the 4th).
Would be dissapointing to see same players and not give other Koreans a shot. Puma is the champion of IEM Cologne, but he shouldn't get every invite because of this.

edit: Oh, I am late ...

The Korean invites probably depend on Code S this week + GSTL. If someone like TOP gets knocked out of Code S, he'll have no GSTL or GSTL and have the time if oGs wants to send him to this tournament

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Most BIG name players will be at MLG Orlando over IEM New York, it was a poor choice to schedule them on the same weekend.

However, I'm glad to see some of the less appreciated players getting a shot. Good luck guys, make whitey proud!

Good tourney for some lesser known and appreciated players to show some good results against some beast players. Going to be really hard though. I really hope Attero can show some good games. Also gl to Poke/Gatored/Elfi/Axlav/Edge who have a chance to make a good name for themselves as well. I would say Group A and B are the toughest with the edge going to group A but I am a bit biased as I am rooting for Attero. gogo Attero you been waiting for a tourney like this i know.

I wonder why. IEM has a larger prizepool, less games and the koreans are usually a bit worse than the MLG ones.

I hope they invite some Korean zergs so far just 1, maybe Killer can pull of FruitDealer and win. :D
Nice looking groups tbh.
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

MLG means more quite frankly. Also there is a better ROI for sending you team to MLG than to IEM for teams.

As for the other groups; Group A looks pretty good, nice race mix - but i guess the smart money is on the "Korean" in every group lol - should be interesting to see who comes through to which group

I wonder who the korean invitees will be

To be honest, i expect a lot of 2-0's with Koreans probably ending on first spots with EU players on second in the groupstage. Only Killer and qxc as NA players have a chance at going through.
What viewers ratio would you expect IEM to MLG?
I'll give it 1:3

Not really impressed with this pool of players at all.. It's either going to Mana or Strelok imo, unless a Korean takes it.. but there is a huge drop in skill level from say Mana and Strelok, to Axslav, Pokebunny, etc.

Not to say that those players aren't extremely talented.. it's just up against Mana, Strelok, and korean players I don't see them taking any games except from each other.

it's because Orlando is the last regular event till the MLG Nationals, it's the last chance for players to earn points for better seeding at Providence.

Why do people make joke posts like these?

They lost one best of, it doesn't matter.

Puma even won the tournament you're talking about.

Maybe in their best matchups against a Koreans worst match up they can take a bo3, but a Korean will win the tournament and that's what matters.

If the four Koreans are something like Ryung, Sage, Losira and Nada (so perhaps not the best of the best but a strong lineup of Code S/A players) then a Korean wins it no questions asked.

That's what matters for you maybe. Other people have other opinions on that subject and calling people's posts jokes doesn't make their saying any lesser than yours.

I too think that Korean will probably win this tourney, but i'm rooting for a foreigner triumph because i care more about foreign scene and i believe in foreigners. Does it bother you?

The /A is, what disturbs me. Ryung, Nada and Losira are all strong Code-S players and Sage is seen as Code-S-Material by a lot of people. If you consider their previous invites and the fact, that most of the strong korean players will go to MLG, then a line-up like Dream/Sniper/Sase/Check seems to me more likely. In addition, it wasn´t just one best of. NaDa is currently 1-4 against the players above and Puma lost again in the EGMC to MaNa, although he had the server-advantage. Strong Code S/A-Players would of course be favorites to win the tournament, but a if it would be just a bunch of second-tier-code-a-players, I would not be to surprised, if 3/4 of the semi-finalists are europeans.

Rooting for Elfi, if he can play relaxed and has a good day he can be upsettingly good. Hoping QXC has some good results too. Koreans might stomp tho.

MaNa needs to win this. Sjow/Killer/Strelok/qxc will have an OK shot too, but none of them are close to MaNa. I'm just ignoring the KR invites here. This is going to be a foreigner win. One can dream, haha.

koreans will dominate. None of those players except for sjow, TT1 and qxc have ever taken big series off koreans before (I could be mistaken, but a lot of those players aren't the cream of the crop IN MY HUMBLE OPINION). I'm thinking top 4 koreans and the next top 3 are the ones I listed in any order.

Agreed. Although I would like to add Mana to your list. He's an amazing player. Took down Puma 2-0 aswell as other koreans in some tourny.

Definitely not happy to see the only Zerg in my group. I'll try my best but it's going to be tough for sure. Good luck to everyone. Our job is to welcome the koreans with a solid beat down! (In the game of course... geez relax tarzan)

What big series has TT1 won against koreans? MaNa's record vs koreans is pretty good: 2-0 vs Puma (TWICE!), 2-0 vs Rain, 2-0 vs NaDa.

I think that objectively, other than the koreans, MaNa is the favorite to win this.

So NaDa, Maka, Rain, HuK, and Puma are no Code S/A calibre? Cause all of them lost to Sjow, MaNa or elfi recently on LAN-Events.

I agree, lol... people use tiny fragments of games as their supporting argument. It's hardly an anomaly.

KiLLeR is a zerg known for his excellent ZvP, and Protoss is currently universally recognized as the weakest race. The other player in his group is a world class terran SjoW, who is admittedly beatable for Attero, but definitely favored.

I qualified for this tournament by beating Attero, so I'd say I know what I'm talking about. His PvT can be amazing, but it is inconsistent. When he is on his game he is extremely scary.

His PvT is consistent, he's beaten you as well lol. Beating someone at one point in time doesn't mean they're inconsistent, he's beaten all the Terrans 4-1 (except for Spades) on The "V". It is, literally, his best match-up.

His worst MU I would say is Zerg and then maybe Protoss due to the new patch, but they're improving rather well.

I don't understand why this is on the same weekend as MLG. MLG has the better players and more of them, better casters, plus barcraft events that are already planned all across the globe. They really couldn't have picked a worse weekend.

Why is there only one Zerg? Is that all that qualified? Hopefully some of the invites will be Zerg.

If not, it makes it a particularly boring tournament for me. PvP is meh, and PvT has just been infuriating for me lately.

Good luck to Attero.

I never claimed to be better than Attero, as I said, he's inconsistent - losing to me proves that, simply put. The fact is that SjoW is the clear favorite over him and is obviously on another level than the terrans he has beaten in showmatches, along with SjoW having an extremely strong history at live events. Sure he's beaten Killer, but to consider him the favorite when he has imbalance against as well as his worst matchup vs Killer's best is simply silly. I'm not saying he's bad nor am I saying he has no chance.

The only inconsistencies I have is when I'm tired. And if you followed me closely you'd know that a good number of my tournament losses have been to koreans, which isn't inconsistent at all. As long as I am awake, I definitely won't lose to any Terran. Every player has a chance and I'm sure everyone will try to bring their A-game. Best of luck to all players I'm sure it'll be a fun event regardless of who wins and loses.

What? No one's talking about if he's better than you or not.
Dropping a match against you means nothing. It doesn't mean inconsistency because it isn't a constant thing (meaning if he's done it once doesn't indicate inconsistency but rather other lurking factors that could dictate the loss, not necessarily the match-up itself).

No one is talking about favourites either nor reading further than what you're saying. We're just clarifying some misreadings you've stated.

If there are beatable Koreans, I can see Mana taking this whole thing. Surprisingly weak groups overall though, that's a bit disappointing.

What if they invite a lesser Terran player against which Mana's mana pools are effective lol?

Well, people are either playing in MLG, or they're not going to travel to New York City :S.

Agreed. Although I would like to add Mana to your list. He's an amazing player. Took down Puma 2-0 aswell as other koreans in some tourny.

I Gotta say that KiLLeR almost won the match against MC at IEM Cologne and took down TSL_Killer on a showmatch at stage.

The problem is his ZvT, it really sucks and it doesn't adapt... I really hope he trains a lot and I haven't seen his ZvT since Cologne, but the biggest trouble might be that he easily lose confidence after a loss when he is so far from home, I hope he can play the same way I've seen him laddering at the KR server.

In the beginning there was nothing... and then exploded

No Dignitas member will attend MLG Orlando. As far as I know SeleCT stays at the FXO house and prepares for Blizzcon.

Can't wait for the korean announcements Aside from those, I think Strelok, qxc, sjow and Mana are obviously the favorites among foreigners. It depends on what caliber the korean players are though, as to their chances at winning.

Sjow and Mana could both win this, depends on who the Koreans are. There´s probably going to be some roflstomps in group play.

Elfi has been taking names since forever. Beating Nada at assembly, Mana Msiprocup etc. Elfi could possibly take it.

I don't understand why this is on the same weekend as MLG. MLG has the better players and more of them, better casters, plus barcraft events that are already planned all across the globe. They really couldn't have picked a worse weekend.

Its because of late the IEM America events have been hosted at ComicCon and this has worked out well for ESL, so they re-booked it. It isnt as if they went out of their way to compete with MLG on this weekend, in fact they have a history of actually not doing so eg. no cs1.6 at IEM Cologne because of the e-stars tournament being held at the same time. But when starcraft is a game that has such a depth of players that they can still put on a strong show I think that's fine that its on. It isnt easy to completely reschedule a whole event when it includes finding another massive venue etc.

Also I dont think you can blame ESL or credit MLG for most barcraft events that are happening because 1.) thats all the fans work and 2.) the phenomena probably didnt even exist when either event was booked!

Its going to be a good event, and I dare say by Championship sunday a lot of people might be tired/saddened by all the Korean smashing so its nice to have a smaller event with a slightly better foreign chance to turn to in a dark hour

I am not sure if this has been corrected in the comments as of yet, but there are only 3 Korean slots and 1 for China / SEA.

Depending on the Korean invite on group d, Elfi has a good chance topping the group. Same goes for sjow, strelok and mana.

That's not true, I'd totally enjoy seeing korean pros destroy those qualified. I feel that this IEM has a really poor level. Beside mana, qxc and elfi the rest of the players are like B-team players.

I think this tournament depends on which Koreans get to go to the tournament. I expect someone from MVP, and OGS because they have foreign teams who work with them. Hopefully at least one of DRG, sC, MC or Nada. Although if there are lower level Koreans being sent I can see a foreigner winning it. Personally i want Mana to win :D

You think they chose the players? Everything was qualifiers. Not to mention I'd expect a couple more zergs from koreans.

Damn esl for their fair open qualification system that places all competitors on an even footing unlike certain other tournaments happening that weekend! How could they be so stupid!? They must be blinded by an irational hatred of zerg players or something man, no other reason for it

IEM NY was the first SC event I ever went to, last year. It was on the small side, I thought. Will the growth of SC2 make it a bigger event this time? Or will it be on the same scale as last year's event at comic-con?

Definitely bigger than last year... this year it is international players and SC2 has grown hugely.

Because as with last year its hosted at Comic Con. They wernt like "lets make our stream less popular by hosting it this particular weekend". You could as well ask why MLG is hosting the same weekend as IEM given how in advance these tournaments have to get plans started

I'm not trying to hate on IEM at all, but pending on who the Korean invites are, I feel like MLG has a far better talent pool than this tourney. Shame that they coincide =/

Are you sure that is the pool with the SEA player? All of them said Korean as a placeholder on the group reveal show. Source? (Not that I don't believe you, and I sure as hell would love to believe you).

It's actually a Chinese player.

Source: http://news.replays.net/page/20110928/1616205.html

The Chinese player "Comm" won a small qualifier and has *earned* that slot in Group C. The reason why it isn't set in stone is because he has not obtained his visa yet. Should he be successful in his application, he should be in Group C.

Added the Chinese player Comm to group C based on the source of the post above mine.

This player is likely gonna get replaced due to visa or travel issues, because having a newer Chinese player travel on a few weeks notice is unlikely to work.

Just wondering on how late of a notice are the koreans going to come out? I'd assume they gotta get announced soon else it will be unrealistic for them to make the trip.

Can you confirm the Chinese player and group placement?

MLG just isnt sc2. they get a fantastic following from their other supporting streams too. im sure they werent worried since the competition will definitely be better at MLG anyway.

Likewise esl isnt just sc2. They probably get a higher percentage of their viewers from other games than mlg do at a relatively educated guess now that they have LoL. That MLG would be concerned about competition isnt something I suggested either, I was just stating from a spectator point of view that we ought not be critical of IEM's choice of weekend when very few people are critical of MLG's

or just go watch MLG where most liekly the people you are interested are seeing will be playing... negativity for negativity's sake is not really the most friendly approach

I feel sorry for you if you aren't excited watching Sjow, Mana, Elfi, Killer and Axslav go against some Koreans. Tbh, the foreign line-up for this tournament is probably better than MLG's. MLG has a lot more Koreans tho.

Wow the line up is pretty weak, due to MLG being at the same time ofcourse. It's gonna depend on what the Korean invites are but it looks best for Mana I guess.

Judging from the last few MLG's it should be easy to watch MLG and IEM at the same time.

Downtimes ftw .

Will probably priorisize IEM.. Better casters.

Wow. Great opoprtunity for both those players. Barring someone like Bomber or Losira coming out, I'd say noe of them has an EXTREMELY good chance to win it all.

IEM should be the reason, why he does not participate in Orlando. Bigger Price-Pool + less games = higher priority. Also Bomber does not participate in IEM, so he should be favored to win here. So now IEM has a few top koreans and has good europeans in it. I think, I´ll watch it instead of MLG.

That could be DRGs ticket to GOMs Blizzard Cup at the end of the year. ("Winner of IEM NYC (1)")

There are just a few top players in this tournament yet. Prepare some builds for them and ezpz.

Sjow
Strelok
Mana
DRG

Depending on the last two Koreans (and dark horse elfi) the others aren't worth mentioning as tournament favourites.

I personally think that mlg has a pretty boring lineup this time around. There's a lot of players who are not attending while iem has drg, sangho, sjow, sen, elfi, mana, strelok etc

Killer is a European zerg, his link is indeed pointing to the wrong player. Once again both Killers participating in the same tournament.

Anyway, group A looks toughest depending on who the Korean will be. I think Sjow, Killer, elfi, and Sen are the strongest non-Koreans in attendance. Let's be honest though, the hardest group is the one with DRG in it.

look at the AKA's

Killer is a European zerg, his link is indeed pointing to the wrong player. Once again both Killers participating in the same tournament.

Anyway, group A looks toughest depending on who the Korean will be. I think Sjow, Killer, elfi, and Sen are the strongest non-Koreans in attendance. Let's be honest though, the hardest group is the one with DRG in it.

Killer is a Zerg from Chile and as you said, he's also attending.

You're forgetting MaNa, together with Sen, he's the strongest foreigner attending.

Oh sorry, I thought he was a european since I always see him in the european cups.

Mana's play hasn't really impressed me lately, and Protoss is having problems. He will certainly be a factor since his group is the easiest (i.e. no Korean), so he'll either 1 or 2 it, but I put Mana and Strelok just a little below the others.

Milkis tweeted that DRG, Killer, FruitDealer and Ace are coming. I wonder if Sen or the other guy couldn't come so Koreans got 4 spots.

Seriously, lol @ the FruitDealer invite. Ace has also fallen into obscurity too, but at least he won an IEM event before.

So glad for Ace invite, Ace is pretty good but have bad luck or something, in every preliminary for GSL he is so close to make it in the last raunds, last time against Sage.

Looks like a pretty easy tournament to get blizzcup spot from.. hopefully DRG or Killer(sangho) wins because they are the only players in the lineup that could actually be considered anywhere near top 10 in the world for blizzcup. I guess Mana winning so there's 1 nonkorean in blizzcup would be somewhat interesting too.

I will tune in during mlg downtime/shitty games for rotterdam/bitter awesomeness.

Haha, it's been said before; it's dKiller, not TSLKiller.

I feel MaNa is the clear favorite for this, along with Sen. II hope it's MaNa though for the Blizzcup spot. I feel he should be competing against the worlds best players.

According to IEM site, DRG and TSLKiller are invited, so either Fruitdealer or Ace will not be there, becuase Koreans only got 3 spots. Also according to the IEM site, Killer will play in group A (together with the other Killer) and DRG will play in group B.

Does anybody know the way this will be scheduled? Will it be, for example, pool play on Friday, Ro8 and quarterfinals on Saturday, and semifinals and finals on Sunday?

While that's likely, do you think that if Sen comes Sen could beat him? Sen's pretty good in ZvZ and Slush managed to take a game off Dongraegu. Even without Sen, I think that Mana or Strelok or Sjow or another Korean might have a chance. I'm not saying he isn't a massive favorite, but I don't think we can call it just yet.

Wait a minute, never mind, Pokebunny's gonna kick his ass.

Should I bother coming if the only day I can go is Sunday? Is it worth it?

If yes, what is the schedule for Sunday, and how much will a one day pass cost?

Theoretically, semi finals and finals could be really short, ie not worth going.

Semis start at 10 AM, Finals scheduled for 12:30 but may be later. Sunday pass is $35.

There is also a BarCraft for MLG Orlando a few blocks away that you can attend after the event.

I'm going to BarCraft, you can at least hang out on the early side if you get a table and eat - you just can't sit at the actual bar. I'll also be playing a showmatch there

Predicting Sjow, Mana or DRG to win this thing. I'm I dunno not exactly as excited for this as I could be, it just doesn't feel hyped enough for me to be wriggling with anticipation you know. Mostly just hoping for some good games and perhaps an upset or two.

I'll ask around at the office today.

I'm sure someone knows, but I don't know whether or not I'm allowed to announce. Will post as soon as I have good info.

I wish they would have picked maybe a more even set of koreans. I mean when you look at the list you go from amazing zerg play in DRG to ace and fd who really haven't done anything yet. I do think it is important for them to be able to prove themselves, I just think it is odd. I mean they know that by inviting who they did they have a really nice idea of the outcome. Oh well, should be entertaining trying to watch 3 streams at once ^^ (IEM NY MLGx2 (red blue)).

Seems like he has the toughest starting group, will depend on the Korean he gets though.

There is also a BarCraft for MLG Orlando a few blocks away that you can attend after the event.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same situation as you are. I'm not 18

I'm going to BarCraft, you can at least hang out on the early side if you get a table and eat - you just can't sit at the actual bar. I'll also be playing a showmatch there

Until what time can you stay if you are not old enough? Do you have to get there at a certain time? Because that actually sounds fun and I want to watch MLG lol.

I'm not sure... you just have to get there before like.. the end of dinner hours.

So basically you can't get in on the Barcraft if you're under 18, show up past a certain time, and don't busy something to eat?

Seems simple to get in. Only thing I'm worried about is that if I need to take a table, that may be difficult as one person xD

Worst comes to worst, just kick it with a few friends infront of a computer screen and watch the stream that way.

Else just come to the event then if you got some extra money.

seems like DRG is getting some free money looking at the player list. ace has been hit and miss from what ive seen and i still have a special hope for fruitdealer, but realistically noone else is even worth mentioning. kinda sad for iem really ;/

dont get me wrong some good players there, strelok certainly jumps out as solid, but hes just nowhere close to drg, noone there is.

As far as I can tell it's actually TOP/DRG/Fruitdealer/Killer, making the groups:

Group A
SjoW
Killer
Attero
SangHo

Group B
Strelok
StrifeCro
Gatored
DRG

Group C
MaNa
TT1
Pokebunny
TOP

Group D
elfi

PvT and PvP =/= PvZ, and I hope you're not implying Stephano is anywhere close to DRG's skill

There are people here claiming Stephano's the next bonjwa, so please don't open THAT can of worms.

And yes, Mana's best match-up is indeed PvT, but his PvZ is certainly no joke, and DRG's ZvP is not as great as his ZvT.

Time to see if Sjow's time in Korea paid off, I wonder if elfi is not too tired IEM Guangzhou was just a few weeks ago.
I think we're having a DRG vs TOP finals imo, seams like a nice finals if they happen.
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

Elfi is aboslutely terrible. At least judging from his IEM replays. I was open-minded until I got my hands on the replays. Mana is much more solid in every match up. It's been long overdue Mana takes a title, hopefully he's well prepared. I may attend to watch since I work in NY. (Though I'm not familiar with comic-con. It looks like quite a hectic event looking at their website)

No IdrA, no Major, no Huk, no Kiwi. Unfortunate that the "American event" doesn't have the top NA players, although IIRC the Chinese one didn't have the top Chinese players either.

Mana is due for a win, he's had some good 2nd places but he deserves a major tournament win. At the same time DRG and TOP are going to be as hard to beat as they always are.

Top will take this fairly easy. I can see Sjow beating Top due to Sjow's TvT but there is a small chance for Sjow taking down Top.

No SEA/Asian Player? I think, the Invite of TOP has significantly increased the chance for Foreigners, he has really strong TvZ and his Teammate Supernova has already won against DRG. So if the foreigners can use TOP as a Sniper for DRG, they could have a chance, because MaNas and Sjows best matchup is vT.

imba.FXOStrelok 2-1
GoSu.Gatored 1-3
EGStrifeCro 0-3

This group is fairly hard to predict, actually.

C: FnaticMSI.TT1 3-0
mouz.MaNa 2-1
oGsTOP 1-3
GoSu.Pokebunny 0-3

Probably underrated TOP, and I put TT1 over MaNa since I remember him doing really well in some PvP recently.

D: Acer.elfi 3-0
EGAxslav 2-1
ST.FruitDealer 1-3
iS.Edge 0-3

Axslav > FruitDealer, calling it now

Edge also has great TvZ, I don't see FruitDealer advancing either way

Although it was months ago, TT1 was giving MarineKing a run for his money in GSL, and TOP has never done anything impressive against Protoss.

No, he had to cancel his participation and was replaced by Strifecro. My predictions are:

Group A:
Sangho 3-0 6-1
Sjow 2-1 5-3
Killer 1-2 3-5
Attero 0-3 1-6

Sangho seemed very beatable last IEM, losing a game to Diestar and Socke and losing a series to SeleCT. But then, he had good results in GSL vs. Terran. Sjow on the other side won IESF, trained in Korea and seems really good right now, so its not easy to call. On the other hand, he is not so good vZ, so he could lose to Killer. I think ,its the easiest way to put the Code-S guy at the first position, so I do this, but it could be taken from Sjow or maybe even from Killer in a Sjow>Sangho>Killer>Sjow sitiation. Attero himself said, that his PvZ worries him, so I put him at the last place, because I don´t see him take out Sjow or Sangho, because of their korean training.

Group B:
DRG 3:0 6:0
Strelok 2:1 4:2
??
??

I can´t really say, how strong Gatored and Strifecro are, but given the fact, that DRG is DRG and Strelok is 4-0 in NASL, I dont see them take games of one of those two.

Group C:
1. MaNa 2-1 5-3
2. TOP 2-1 5-3
3. TT1 2-1 4-4
4. Pokebunny 0-3 1-6

MaNa is really good vT and with good preparation I think ,he can take out TOP (in a bo3, bo5 would be harder). But his PvP seemed a bit weaker lately, so TT1 could be his biggest challenge. I can´t really see TT1 take a game of TOP, so in this tie-situation he would be the one with the bad luck. I don´t think, that Pokebunny can win against MaNa´s or TOP´s vT, but he can possibly take out TT1.

Group D:
1. Fruitdealer 3-0 6-1
2. Elfi 2-1 5-3
3. Axlsav 1-2 2-5
4. Edge 0-3 2-6

FD did win against Sase and Sase > elfi/Axslav, so I think he can take this group, although he might be eliminated in the quarterfinals. Elfi is very good in PvP, so he should have no problems with Axslav. I never really recognized Edge, so I think ,he will be outclassed by his opponents, but with good preparation vP he can take one game of elfi/Axslav. Maybe even a series, but I don´t think so.

This kind of looks like a charity event for Top/DRG, but we could see some surprises from Mana or elfi again. The Koreans are gonna want this really badly though now that the winner of this gets an invite to the Gom Blizzard Cup.

Completely agree with you. Mana has a chance.. I don't think elfi does.

I'll be pulling for Strelok though

Hmm all the groups are evenly distributed. The easy assumption is that KR takes 1 and EU takes 2nd spot. If Sangho or FD had slightly more difficult groups, they'd be at risk. Right now Group A probably is the most even, it depends on which Sjow comes out to play and if Killer can pull off a lucky series against Sangho.

SangHo is pretty good. There's a reason why he was the last protoss in GSL this season. FruitDealer on the other hand...I pretty much gave up on him. Hopefully he'll surprise anyone.
