In any case, good luck to their former players. Disbandment of their wow section? lol competence in e-sports? lol They were getting into wow and SC when wow was still on the MLG circuit. As soon as the wow pro scene died there was no reason for a wow team or wow pro section/blog of any kind. Think please. I was the guy who worked with the sixjax business people to start everything for sixjax in the pro gaming scene. I was the guy who was working on putting together a pro wow team, i was the guy who brought in the world of ming blog, I was the guy who made the deal with NrG hand in hand with the sixjax owners, and I was with the team at their first MLG event. What you people don't get is that this was all about advertising and marketing. They are running a business, not a fucking charity. If the visibility of the pro SC team and the sixjaxgaming.com website wasn't bringing real traffic, users, and money to the sixjax.com website then it was not worth it for the business. The money spent on sending them to events/player contracts etc was better spent on real/traditional advertising and this is probably the realization they eventually came upon. I don't know the reasons behind ending their foray into the pro scene, but I do know the owner is a smart guy who probably saw that the pro-gaming industry is not worth the effort. It's full of immature, socially awkward, illogical, children with unfounded ego's and zero business sense making shit for money who will get run over in the real world (excluding all the NrG players I met - all great guys). Sorry kids, but 12k a year for playing video games 60 hours a week may sound like a sweet deal, but it's not. There are maybe less than a handful of people outside of koreans who make any decent money (by decent I mean less than what any normal human should be making about 2 years out of college). Luckily for esports the self-made multi millionaire owner of sixjax was also a big gaming fan and he gave this industry a shot and it didn't work out so it was probably time to shit or get off the pot. Pro gaming will continue to sputter along because of the types of people who make it up. The truth is that there is little to no money in esports for the parent organizations. Even the "big name teams" are complete jokes of a business. I worked closely with alex garfield (EG founder/owner) and complexity members reviewing their businesses and negotiating deals over the phone. I personally forced Alex into putting their pro wow team on a salary and giving them computers, right as the pro wow scene was vanishing, by bidding on his players (I was friends with the WoW team and they deserved better than what they were getting so I hooked them up). Alex begged us on numerous occasions to buy out Evil Geniuses and become the majority owner (i have skype logs to prove it). He makes very little money running the "premier pro gaming organization". How fucking great of a business is that? Ya sure it's fabulous to just "be part of something bigger than himself" by fueling esports, but if that was the only motivation then he wouldn't be begging for a payday with the buyout. He wants out, but the teams just can't figure out how to make real money off this. The slide decks coL/EG show to potential sponsors are complete fluff and lies and I truly feel bad for the sponsors being duped into thinking they are getting as much exposure out of their money as they think they are (i still have the decks). ROOT catz may have taken the cake. He may have been the stupidest person I dealt with. He thought they were going to turn ROOT into a million dollar empire by having sponsors throw money at them just by offering space on their site and talking about the sponsor. The stupidity astounded me and I literally had to laugh in his face. We offered good money to them and his idiot ass couldn't comprehend how real business works. Sixjax is well run and they will do fine even with the money they sunk/lost in this world. Esports in the US, on the other hand, will always dink along as a pathetic goal of lazy gamers who want to be "pro" for money and fame only to find themselves years later having made worthless money and wasting huge chunks of their lives.
