It's been nearly a year since the team Sixjax Gaming was formed. In that time the team and its members have accomplished much. Our player's individual achievements are countless, and our collective success in clan wars showed that we were capable of competing with the best in the world. It was fantastic seeing the team grow from relative obscurity to what it was at its best.

That said, I am here with a heavy heart to announce that Sixjax Gaming is disbanding.

For many of you this announcement won't be a huge surprise. The last few months have been hard on the team. Though our organization's players and administration have tried everything within reason to keep the team chugging along, it has become apparent that the appropriate course of action here is to shut down the team and let everyone pursue opportunities elsewhere.

We'd like to thank our former sponsor Sixjax.com for all their support. Without their help we wouldn't have been able to do many of things we did.

I'd personally like to thank the players for keeping their chins up through thick and thin. Everyone showed a great deal of character, even through roughest times. Though we'll all likely be flying different flags soon, I'll always be a fan of all the former Sixjax Gaming players.

it seems like there is a lot of disbanding and player trades recently, it will be strange to see what teams will look like after all of this bottoms out

Can't say I'm surprised. This is an organization which formed by basically taking another clan's players while throwing out the organizer, then added a caster in Korea as captain and brought in a kid known for teamhopping and bad manner as their ace. The main sponsor was a shady, borderline legal website.

Nothing against most of the players or Evoli by the way, they're awesome. Can't wait to see where DDE and Vibe end up.

Best of luck to them all

I expected this ever since Artosis's recruits quit.

Also, I'd rather not have the Sixjax roster go to the powerhouse NA teams like EG or Fnatic. We need a more competitive team scene in NA, so I hope the likes of DDE join a lesser known team like DG or back to NrG, or even shore up the slightly weaker teams like col or Gosu.

Can't say I'm surprised, but still sad nonetheless. Really wanted to see sixjax succeed.
But yeah being a Korean gamer is very imba. If you're a non-korean gamer you have to balance your game playing with earning money and your real life. If you're Korean you just sit around playing games all day eating 2 cent ramyun and becoming gosu.

Now the question is, who's going to pick up dde/Vibe?

they're both really talented players that can flourish in any team environment i reckon.

Also begs the question, who's going to have the balls to pick up major?

This makes their story that they were going to send Major to Korea before he said "fuck u" even more unbelievable. I highly doubt they were going to send him between the same time they were not sending players to MLG and then disbanding.

This is sad news. I found out about sixjax by meeting skew in person at a local LAN. That resulted in me looking up the team and finding out about the other players. Then going to MLG and meeting them, interviewing dde and cocoa, and watching vibe beat TLO. Since then I've followed ViBE and dde's play and it wouldn't have happened without sixjax having existed.

Awesome team, sad to hear it's going.

Artosis will be fine. He's pretty well established in the scene, and he is, of course, half of the renowned casting archon... i'm sure he'll keep at it, if not now work harder at casting since he won't have the responsibilities imparted by the team.

Sad to hear about the break up though, hopefully everyone finds a place to go.

Sad. I just realized Six Jax is an auction website. I guess it wasn't the most successful campaign to promote the site.

There are a lot of good players now floating around without a team and after the summer with all the Koreans being picked up I think a lot of the big teams aren't looking to pick up players as much. Hope they find a good home anyways though.

is this a hint of things to come.... EGHuk EGIdrA EGPuma In Korea ... Artosis and Tasteless may become a part of EG again and their managers for EG Korea?

I can see it happening especially now with this news.

And since they are good friends with alot of the EG Guys... Hey a portion of EG are going back to Korea.... sounds like it could happen..

I kinda expected this, sixjax never really seemed stable, and after not sending any of their players to mlg, and then the whole major thing, I kinda figured they may have lost interest in/had enough of the sc2 scene.

Either way best of luck to dde and ViBe, they're both skilled players, so It'd be sad if they weren't picked up by a high level team.

i honestly feel that EG should have more people over there, at least 6-8 people even if a few of them need to be new recruits/talent (though that might be hard to get reliably) so that they can compete in the GSTL and be able to have the most efficient practice schedule possible

I thought Tasteless parted ways with EG after IdrA left Korea? because they didn't need a Manager for EG Korea functions anymore?

They're still friends but yes i don't think he is still part of EG currently... Correct me if i'm wrong someone

*Edit* From TLPD Quoted
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Tasteless

On March 31st, 2011, Tasteless announced he was "quitting EG" via his twitter. This news was unsurprising due to team EG's refocus on the western E-Sports community over the E-Sports community in Korea

Im sure Tasteless left on Good grounds because he was friends with everyone on EG etc

sry but i have to say its nearly their own fault...

before artosis came they had alot of gamers, then artosis got in some rly strong but i really NEVER knew who was in the rooster, it wasnt even able to see it easy on page so a team without a real "feel" i saw sixjax and it was the only team in sc2 i had no clue who is in the actual rooster who is out etc etc
and with major kick and then the 2nd comment etc etc they rly not made themselves alot new fans i guess

when making a team you need to have an easy rooster like "my players are ..:" and not say something on page another and in cw a third rooster

Damn, looking forward to Artosis' statement on this. I think everyone seems to care most about him, tbh...

Not to slam sixjax, but since MajOr left they really don't have any sort of "ace" player. Sucks, though...

I'd like to give everyone a runover..

Evoli - One of the nicest guys out there and did incredibly well at the last MLG despite not know how to play starcraft properly. Such a beauty, and really did put a lot into this team so I know that it really hurts him to see it go. Hope to see you at many more lans to come!

Artosis - Just to clear it up he had very little to do with the team, and was brought on to attract attention to the name. I don't have anything against him I just get annoyed at this misconception that he was the core of the team.

Juan - Obviously a very controversial player. Has some attitude issues and can be pretty BM online but overall I think he's a good guy. Practices so hard and holds himself to the highest standards, so myself as someone with a somewhat similar mindset I can understand some of the things he does. He has the talent to go very far, and I wish him the best of luck at blizzcon.

DDE - Jason, I truly believe that one day you will fully be able to support your pizza obsession off starcraft winnings alone, and won't need to save up tournament winnings to order in. I'm always amazed at how good you are at starcraft, and I secretly believe that your protoss is better than your terran.

ViBE -- your style of zerg is pretty different from mine but I still have great respect for you as a person (if not as a player ; ]) Seriously dude you are an awesome friend, and damn handsome so turn your webcam to your face not your hands when you stream!

Mihai -- You were never as good at BW as me, but I will never be as good at WoW as you. Hopefully you will start playing SC2 more again you do have a lot of potential.

Cocoa, I don't know if you've been playing recently but I wish you luck in whatever you are doing nowadays!

Skew -- The bromaster himself. I feel like theres a like of brobvious things you could say about such a broutstanding individual such as skew. I wanted to drag this out, but you were honestly such a damn good player for never playing any games I hate to see what will happen once you start playing for realz (it will happen).

Anyways I wish everyone on the team the best of luck, and I love you all <3!

The best foreigners actually have to join the best foreign teams / korean teams if we want to see them start beating koreans in tournaments in the near future. Not sure if DDE and ViBe would get invited to EG but I can see coL or ItsGosu giving them a spot.

Smaller sketchy teams falling off the map is good for the scene and the players. DDE and Vibe will be able to find much better homes now. Preferably a home that remembers to send them to MLG events.

evoli deserves some props for putting together a world class team and kept it together for a year. Unfortunate all the effort are wasted on a bad brand, hope that someone with his organizational talent will quickly find a proper place again in eSports.

Not too much of a surprise, especially given all the negative press around the team recently. Still, always hate to see something like this happen to a team, especially when there were a few gems amongst the rough. Good luck to all the players.

I don't think artosis would just attach himself to something unless it was a noble cause... Running a professional gaming organization is by no means an easy task. My hats off to sixjax and for giving it a valiant effort I'm sure the players and staff will find new homes easily.

I'm more concerned for the actual players than Artosis.

I haven't seen much intervention from Artosis in the clan, except for the times when he was involved in some MajOr scandal, so I think it'd be a better bet to stick to casting for a while than picking anything that is put on his plate.

As for the players, the team wasn't offering them the best visibility in the community, IMHO (no idea about monetary terms), so I guess they have a lot of teams offering them a better oportunity. Most of them are good and young players, so I guess they shouldn't have too big a of a problem in getting offers.

Hopefully Sixjax clan members and management all get picked up by other teams. There were some serious studs on that clan, sad to see it disband, even though it headed in that direction since a while ago .

Not sure if Artosis needs a new team since he's not really active as a player anymore outside of ladder play.

Probably for the best, the promising and talented players on SJ will be fine, I think its rather exciting to look forward to who signs them.

We're going to be seeing a lot of teams and tournaments folding up shop in the coming months. There were a lot of people without a whole lot of experience trying to get a piece of the action as Starcraft II boomed, now that things appear to be leveling off ( at least until HotS ) organizations will reevaluate whether this is something they want to be involved in. Eventually we should be left with only the most committed and well-run teams/tournaments.

I have no doubt the excellent former-SJG players will find a new home for their talent, but I can't say I'm sorry to see some of the less serious organizations go.

I can't help but agree. I think that it's unfortunate for the players from SJG who were serious about being pro players, but at the same time it's good to see the organisations who aren't committed or organised enough to be in it for the long term slowly disappear from the scene. The reason I'm behind this market correction is that at the end of the day the majority or people in these teams who're really talented or serious about making it work will find their way into better organisations who'll fully utilise and appreciate their talents. It may be that there is going to be some short term pain for these players et al, but in the end I think the industry will be better for it as lesson aren't learnt.

Vibe should join a team where he can live in a progaming house or atleast together with a team mate or two. He's really strong as it is, but could get fking good if he had the right environment. In my opinion

I don't know why you'd post something like that other than to derail the thread into a drama and skepticism war.

I'm sure money was the issue here. The way the scene looks now is I doubt any investors will put in money into a team that will hope to claim results and gain sponsors. Pretty much all the teams that have been founded on that idea have gone extinct.

Best of luck to the players, with where ever the end up or decide to do.

To be honest it seems he hasn't done so much for the team, more of a PR guy. At the accident with Major etc they said Artosis wasn't really involved, mostly with skype calls I think. Well they sure had some cool players in their rooster, but I always believed they were kind of a mediocre pro team compared to other ones. Sad thing still I guess.

It is unfortunate when teams disappear from the scene; however, I'm sure that the main players will quickly get picked up by new teams. A bit funny that most of the posts here are about someone that is neither a player nor heavily affected by the whole thing..

Im not in any way saddened by this news. The players on that team and evoli deserved better support and backers that will actually send them to events. More and more lately "sixjax" has just appeared to be more a collection of players for online clan wars than a real dedicated send u places in real life team, and tbh, players can do that by themself so where is the huge loss

No, he was a total dick all along. Even if the organization had issues, he still did a ton of fucking crap that would warrant a kick. He cussed out DDE and repeatedly tried to cheat in smurf tournaments - and then there's the money-split thing.

Major leaving/Getting fired makes much more sense but it also gives both parties a proper "excuse". They could not send him to Korea and he left because of that. So both are right and did what they had to do at the end of the day.

DDE and Vibe are two young guns gaining momentum in the Western scene who will be break outs over the next year or so. I am sure that teams who need some core "star" players( like their 1-5 top guys) will pick them up and incorporate them into the fold as one of their top players. I believe teams like CheckSix, Gosu, Vile and Quantic could really use these types of players or I could even see them being picked up by Reign, Complexity, or FXO.

No, he was a total dick all along. Even if the organization had issues, he still did a ton of fucking crap that would warrant a kick. He cussed out DDE and repeatedly tried to cheat in smurf tournaments - and then there's the money-split thing.

What a shame. To be honest, it wasn't a team I followed results wise but it was a team I had total respect for the way they work as an organisation compared to other teams.

Good luck to all persons involved.

How about that being totally unrelated to trying to cheat in tournaments, cussing out DDE and stealing money from a teammate? Wait, that was everything I had even listed. Major is immature as hell and should have been booted long ago, I can imagine why sixjax wouldn't send him to korea ("lol I gave my jerseys to random men in the airport, plz believe no lie")

Our player's individual achievements are countless

ok this made me chuckle a little bit.
It's sad though
but seriously, this team never really made any wave or put out any tremendous competition (as a whole). But starting a team, becoming sucessful, and remaining so is a very tough model to follow.

Lets keep the facts straight here. He smurfed into a tournament. No cheating involved. He never -stole- any money at all. And he BM'd twice, once publicly.

There was this one MLG where Major, dde, and Vibe all went pretty darn far out of the Open Bracket. If we're honest with ourselves, sixjax was definitely one of the top NA teams. Only EG, TL, and complexity could say they were definitely better.

Right? I feel like I'm missing a team.

Reign and fnatic are probably about on the same level as sixjax were. I'm not even sure if I'd call TLs american branch or complexity definitely stroger than sixjax. If they all put their american/canadian players up against each other I reckon it'd be pretty close.

I can't say I'm surprised to see Sixjax go under, it felt kind of doomed from the start, especially once Major came on. Still, it's a shame, I liked some of their players.

*SIDE NOTE* Lol i love when news comes out, and someone says " was expecting this" or " I saw this coming a mile away" no you didnt if you dont work for the organization or know someone in it, you didnt know come on now stop boosting your online ego.

Also its sad that SixJax couldn't work things out with the team, we need more teams for more up and coming players to join to get there name out there, I found that sixjax was one of them teams. Lets be honest SixJax was never a "Major" team (see what I did there) but it could have been a great starter team for people to get a taste of pro gaming then launch there careers as a pro gamer.
So sad day that one of the teams disbanded, but on the other hand we might see a new team forum or maybe even 2 teams when this stuff happens.

WTF is this man

Just because Major is immature doesn't mean the whole team deserves to get disbanded. The rest of the team is quite professional.

I, for one, wish the players all the best and hope that this is an opportunity for them to capitalize on their successes of the past year.

Good luck, guys. Must be hard losing your clan. Lost mine 6 or 7 years ago, still have memories. It's kinda like with the achievements. Stats and leagues get reset but badges stay. Hope you all find a new home and plenty success yet ahead of you, and still manage to keep in touch with your mates.

Well actually we are all saying this because we read Skew's post which basically outlined this entire eventuality. But, yknow, paying attention is overrated.

All of the former sixjax players have a lot of potential, and I wish them all the best in finding a new team. Most of them most likely won't have any problems getting into another team, but who knows what can happen. Hopefully Major will change his attitude, and also be accepted into another team. This is kind of sad though.

Why not? DDE is Terran and EG only has 1 'good' player at best for Terran; Demuslim.

WTF is this man

Just because Major is immature doesn't mean the whole team deserves to get disbanded. The rest of the team is quite professional.

I, for one, wish the players all the best and hope that this is an opportunity for them to capitalize on their successes of the past year.

Pretty much anyone who knew anything about sixjax as an organization knew this would happen soon enough.. It has nothing to do with the players. They are great players and awesome people and will surely find new homes veeeery quickly, esp. dde and ViBE.

man I have so much to say about this. It's really sad to see my friends go through this again. These guys are awesome players and make really great teammates in the right atmosphere.

How many times does this happen? When teams are forced together hastily and when decisions are made for the wrong reasons. What was happening in sixjax obviously wasn't working, and history is fact enough to tell you that this is often the fate of teams thrown together like this. As a whole, the team wasn't functioning properly. I heard numerous times that players weren't motivated to play and that the team felt more like a group of individuals instead of a group of teammates. I really hate to say "I told you so", but I kinda foresaw this as soon as I started to lose control of the team.

In the end I believe it was sheer inexperience from the higher-ups that brought the team down. The views and goals that they had in mind were pretty unrealistic with the resources at hand. I know I might sound quite biased while saying this but I truly believe that sixjax was being seen as one of the up-and-coming teams for a while when it was partnered with NrG, and if things had continued along that road who knows what would have happened. A lot of the success the players had back then stemmed from the system that was in place within the team. Everyone played and enjoyed it because they wanted to play both for the team and for themselves. Teams thrive a lot better in this environment, and I think they are respected a lot more within the community.

I could go on and on about this, but the damage is done and some great players have now been thrown for a loop. I hope everyone continues to play this game, and I hope they play it competitively. They are all outstanding players and individuals, no matter what tag they wear <3

Saw it coming. Sixjax made some post on their website gauranteeing that even though they didn't send any of their players to the latest MLG that it, "wouldn't be their last MLG". Guess they were wrong :/

I really think it's better for the community that sixjax is gone though. Scam sites sponsoring teams don't exactly make the community look good (and please, don't try to act like sites like sixjax are not a giant scam). They probably just saw starcraft 2 as a huge money grab and when they realized the profit potential wasn't as great as they though they stopped caring.

was looking through the pages trying to find BW fans poking and jabbing back at the negative comments we've received in threads regarding BW teams closing, but alas, there was none.

Honestly a team sponsored by a penny auction scam site was doomed to eventually fade out and die just like penny auction scams are fading out and dying once the gullible people realized how shady they are. Artosis and the players deserve better, I hope they can find a non shady team.

I would be amazed if Artosis joins any team.
His play is far from pro level, which we saw in the NASL and he has only played less since then.
If he gets picked up it should be as a caster, not as a player.

I don't think artosis will join any team, there is no point in that, he is a full time caster these days and I feel like he doesn't have the time he'd need to put in to hang with the top anyways.

Other than that sad news I hope all players find new teams quickly.

If EG picked up Artosis, wouldn't they now have TWO casters in both Tasteless and Artosis??...

MUST PREVENT EG FROM CREATING CASTER MONOPOLY!!! x)

On topic however, although I don't like seeing promising teams break up like this, it seems with sixjax and it was inevitable (unstable players, unstable sponsorship = unstable team?)

what's Sixjax..

From simply extrapolation of the first page I would say sixjax was a pro gaming team that contain such players as Artosis, DDE, and Vibe. After further review of the first post on the first page it would also appear that Sixjax was sponsored by sixjax.com, but at this time has disbanded.

I hope that clarifies what Sixjax was.

Please don't troll.

If you are trying to express your opinion that sixjax was not a well known team, fine, then do so intelligently.

I wish the best of luck to Vibe. He has always been a great Zerg stream to watch. I hope he finds another team soon along with Artosis and DDE

Because IdrA left Korea, and Tasteless's job having to do with managing EG members in Korea, he had no reason to be in EG. The position he had will probably open back up in preparation for the EG training facility in Korea.

I don't know that about sixjax SC2 team, but the manner in which they handled the disbandment of their World of Warcraft section lead me to believe that their management isn't the most competent in e-sports. In any case, good luck to their former players.

Hard to see this happen and there's lots of lessons and take-aways from this.

I believe that there really needs to be some kind of goal or objective when a team is formed...is money the goal through sponsorships...or whatever the goal may be.

From an outsider's perspective looking in, it just seems as if there were no specific processes put together or any template followed, eg. similar principles when forming a company, applied towards building and forming a team.

I mean the idea of a bunch of friends just coming together, saying "hey let's form a team and get some sponsors to back us" sounds incredibly exciting don't get me wrong. It's when it turns into "work" when things turn sour and let's be honest, sometimes your best friends aren't the greatest employees.

So I don't know, perhaps it was management, perhaps it was specific players, but in the end I think it's a combination of things that snowballed.

I am skeptical that this team could have ended any other way, even with Artosis support and some solid players, they just never quite got their footing as a pro team. Certainly though, it is a shame to see any known team disband. Best of luck to all the players, I'm sure most of them will find another home.

i came to this realization a month or two ago, and left quantic gaming.

there are so many NA teams that like to call themselves "pro teams" but are really just messing around with sponsors money.
its all good and well if you want to form a team for fun and try to compete in a casual way
but when sponsors are involved its really a waste of time/money for everyone. if ur not playing 8+ hours and practicing with good people, u have 0 chance of succeeding. its seems like alot of NA players still haven't come this conclusion yet.

its comical to see semi pro teams spending money to send players to MLG's, when there players aren't really practicing seriously. seems to me they think somehow, someway there players will overcome impossible odds and manage to do well. its so unrealistic.

so many NA players consider themselves "pro" when most couldnt stand a chance against true committed pro players. but thats a another rant for another thread

So many people sympathizing for Artosis. What exactly did he do for Sixjack? Make a couple of videos? Did he actually spend anytime coaching?

It always looked like a lame publicity stunt when he was hired. It may not be Artosis' fault but i hope that the players like DDE come out of this better off.

Sixjax gave me my first opportunity to go to an MLG event, so I'm very sad to see the team disbanding. There was a lot of talent and really great people involved with the entire organization and I wish all of you the best of luck in the future.

yeah artosis might not be a great sc2 player, but he is a greater asset to a team than just being a player. People should be scrambling to pick him up because Artosis of the fans and publicity he brings. I hope Liquid or EG takes him.

EG has Incontrol doing pretty much the same thing and I doubt Liquid would pick him up instead of getting some more Koreans.

*Sigh* Really sorry for all SJ's players and managers. Yeah, kinda wasn't surprised by this however. Looked to be heading kinda that way since the last MLG. I think most of thier players will be able to find home however.

My sympathy is with NrG. From what I heard, sixjax dropping NrG was handled pretty poorly from management (no warning, just dropping all the players except the four best). It's like recruiting cute doggies to mate in order to make even cuter dogs....and then killing all the dogs except for the four cutest ones. All I got from this is that I'm avoiding the company sixjax. However, GL to the beast dde. dde deserves better.

So I don't know, perhaps it was management, perhaps it was specific players, but in the end I think it's a combination of things that snowballed.

i came to this realization a month or two ago, and left quantic gaming.

there are so many NA teams that like to call themselves "pro teams" but are really just messing around with sponsors money.
its all good and well if you want to form a team for fun and try to compete in a casual way
but when sponsors are involved its really a waste of time/money for everyone. if ur not playing 8+ hours and practicing with good people, u have 0 chance of succeeding. its seems like alot of NA players still haven't come this conclusion yet.

its comical to see semi pro teams spending money to send players to MLG's, when there players aren't really practicing seriously. seems to me they think somehow, someway there players will overcome impossible odds and manage to do well. its so unrealistic.

so many NA players consider themselves "pro" when most couldnt stand a chance against true committed pro players. but thats a another rant for another thread

yeah sorry to hear your situation too. In my case it wasn't related to gaming, but it still had to do with working for a friend(we are no longer friends, and have not been, for almost a decade now). I lasted only 8 months under his management. It was hell, dictatorial, and to make things worse, he alternated between "friend mode" and "boss mode" and I could go forever but I really don't want to mentally revisit the hell I went through.

You dream up all these great scenarios, how you'll be the kings of the world, going through battles together. Then somehow, reality is completely different and doesn't prepare you whatsoever for the nightmare that's to come.

So in my case I really feel for these situations because in a different way I been through something quasi-similar.

Everyone was expecting this and i for one am not happy, but not unhappy. Sixjax did not offer anything to its players other than a name and saying hey i play for a team. They were not an IRL team, they were a internet team and this meant that the players, though they probably skyped a lot, did not really contribute too too much to each other in real life. They might have played against each other and made each other better by that means, but that is not the same medium as I.E. HuK living with oGs.MC oGs.Nada oGs.Hero oGs.theSTC and oGs.Cezanne, (yes nada and hero have changed teams but the point is still valid) these people in real life explained to HuK how to play the game, and helped him become the most dominant (arguably) foreigner right now. They had players that were extreemly good but were horrible in the "locker room." Major may be the best foreign terran, but he reaks of manner issues and all around social issues to keep sponsors, however, without Major the team lacked its killer player. DDE is also quite good, but its hard to name another Sixjax player after Vibe (yes i know there are, but those are the most visible players). I like artosis (tastosisftw) but what did this team have on the positive side? the only thing i see is a sponsorship, i just think IMO, that this internet team idea for (high level) pros was just bound to fail. This infact may be a great thing for the players of Sixjax, now they can get signed by teams quite easily without the hassle and issue of public looks by leaving and joining teams quickly.

mm DDE and VIbe were really the best players on SJ... Major already left/kicked out and skew had left already if I'm not wrong.

Hope everyone gets out ok. Maybe Gosu could expand their lineup or Col.

will NrG re-band?

NrG has never stopped, just lost a few players. As of right now, NrGMihai (ahhboxxah) has returned to NrG. We hope we can make the rest follow suit~

Sad to see sixjax go, but I'm sure they'll all do well and find good teams, or good teams will find them

I don't know that about sixjax SC2 team, but the manner in which they handled the disbandment of their World of Warcraft section lead me to believe that their management isn't the most competent in e-sports. In any case, good luck to their former players.

Disbandment of their wow section? lol
competence in e-sports? lol

They were getting into wow and SC when wow was still on the MLG circuit. As soon as the wow pro scene died there was no reason for a wow team or wow pro section/blog of any kind. Think please.

I was the guy who worked with the sixjax business people to start everything for sixjax in the pro gaming scene. I was the guy who was working on putting together a pro wow team, i was the guy who brought in the world of ming blog, I was the guy who made the deal with NrG hand in hand with the sixjax owners, and I was with the team at their first MLG event.

What you people don't get is that this was all about advertising and marketing. They are running a business, not a fucking charity. If the visibility of the pro SC team and the sixjaxgaming.com website wasn't bringing real traffic, users, and money to the sixjax.com website then it was not worth it for the business. The money spent on sending them to events/player contracts etc was better spent on real/traditional advertising and this is probably the realization they eventually came upon.

I don't know the reasons behind ending their foray into the pro scene, but I do know the owner is a smart guy who probably saw that the pro-gaming industry is not worth the effort. It's full of immature, socially awkward, illogical, children with unfounded ego's and zero business sense making shit for money who will get run over in the real world (excluding all the NrG players I met - all great guys). Sorry kids, but 12k a year for playing video games 60 hours a week may sound like a sweet deal, but it's not. There are maybe less than a handful of people outside of koreans who make any decent money (by decent I mean less than what any normal human should be making about 2 years out of college). Luckily for esports the self-made multi millionaire owner of sixjax was also a big gaming fan and he gave this industry a shot and it didn't work out so it was probably time to shit or get off the pot. Pro gaming will continue to sputter along because of the types of people who make it up.

The truth is that there is little to no money in esports for the parent organizations. Even the "big name teams" are complete jokes of a business. I worked closely with alex garfield (EG founder/owner) and complexity members reviewing their businesses and negotiating deals over the phone. I personally forced Alex into putting their pro wow team on a salary and giving them computers, right as the pro wow scene was vanishing, by bidding on his players (I was friends with the WoW team and they deserved better than what they were getting so I hooked them up). Alex begged us on numerous occasions to buy out Evil Geniuses and become the majority owner (i have skype logs to prove it). He makes very little money running the "premier pro gaming organization". How fucking great of a business is that? Ya sure it's fabulous to just "be part of something bigger than himself" by fueling esports, but if that was the only motivation then he wouldn't be begging for a payday with the buyout. He wants out, but the teams just can't figure out how to make real money off this. The slide decks coL/EG show to potential sponsors are complete fluff and lies and I truly feel bad for the sponsors being duped into thinking they are getting as much exposure out of their money as they think they are (i still have the decks).

ROOT catz may have taken the cake. He may have been the stupidest person I dealt with. He thought they were going to turn ROOT into a million dollar empire by having sponsors throw money at them just by offering space on their site and talking about the sponsor. The stupidity astounded me and I literally had to laugh in his face. We offered good money to them and his idiot ass couldn't comprehend how real business works.

Sixjax is well run and they will do fine even with the money they sunk/lost in this world. Esports in the US, on the other hand, will always dink along as a pathetic goal of lazy gamers who want to be "pro" for money and fame only to find themselves years later having made worthless money and wasting huge chunks of their lives.

Nothing but facts kids. Nothing but facts.

sore? haha I completely stepped away after the first MLG event. I just thought it was a good story to share.

I couldn't care less. It's a fucking gaming team idiot. They are basically meaningless.
