HD is lacking in the analysis department, but I think he would be the first to admit it. However, he sounds like he truly enjoys watching and casting starcraft, and I think that goes along way in making up for his other weaknesses. I would prefer to listen to him alone, I think. Making all kinds of mistakes like telling the fans that the 1.4 BFH will still 2 shot workers, over dramatising, lack of positivity, no robo counters to 111... GoGo Cat's Pajamas

Making all kinds of mistakes like telling the fans that the 1.4 BFH will still 2 shot workers, over dramatising, lack of positivity, no robo counters to 111... Other way around. They both make mistakes, but Painuser actually knows the game whereas HD doesn't, really. Neither of them are actually that good at commentating IMO, but Painuser makes up for it by knowing the game. The fact that HD achieved a certain level popularity is mindblowing to me. He goes off on ridiculous tangents that make no sense, says untrue things all the time, brings up random BS. I usually mute any stream or VOD commentated by HD but for IPL, I just lower the volume to catch the insightful things Painuser has in store. Artosis once said that he hates when shoutcasters pretend to know things when they clearly don't. I don't know that he would agree, but HD pisses me off because he can make stuff up absurdly well. The world needs more tastosis and day9 and less silver players who appeal to the official battle.net forum posters. HD is like a freaking apple product.

I tune in to IPL during work hours and it keeps me quite entertained and never had any complains.

I tune in to IPL during work hours and it keeps me quite entertained and never had any complains. They're "promoting e-sports"? Sure, they're also getting an actual salary. You know, money. It's not some great act of self-sacrifice for the community. I appreciate what they're trying to do, but I would bet that HD mostly appeals to people in the low leagues. (I'm sure some pros like to watch for the comical relief) TL is packed to the brim with commentators who do it for free, some of them are much better than the bigshot youtubers but don't get the same recognition. Some of them are the selfless folks who promote "e-sports" I think it's sad when fairly big names get super excited and shout things like "THE SCVS GET A FULL SURROUND ON THE MARINE" at the 4 minutes mark when it's actually 2 SCVs and the marine ran away. It doesn't matter if you sold your house to run a 200k tournament - it doesn't make you a good commentator.

Despite all you casuals claiming he doesn't know what he's talking about...perhaps it's the other way around. HD's made an impressive effort to improve his knowledge of the game and he's a mid-top level masters player who's competed at several MLGs. How many of you can say the same? So get off your bronze ponies and stfu. Competing at MLG is easy. You pay and you play even if you're bronze. Last time he tried to compete he lost 0-2 and dropped into lower bracket and then lost 0-2 and dropped out of the tournament. Well spent $50 (or whatever it costs). He truly doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time.
