I haven't read who would be the sponsor anywhere so far, as soon as anyone gives me the sponsor's name I will edit the thread title!
The Matches
Group A - Game 1 Savior vs iloveoov @ Python
Group B - Game 1 Hwasin vs Darkelf @ Hitchhiker
Group C - Game 1 Iris vs Reach @ Fantasy
Group D - Game 1 GGPlay vs Stork @ Monty Hall
Predictions
Savior vs iloveoov: Python has a 3-4 record for ZvT so far in Proleague, so we don't know yet about the balance. Anyway, we all know oov has a shitty record vs Savior, but Savior doesn't appear to be as deadly as he was up until 2 months ago or so and oov has been getting stronger again. Certainly has the potential to be a very tense and close game, of course I personally would like to see oov win, but I'm still giving Savior (slightly) higher chances than him.
Hwasin vs Darkelf: Who the fuck cares.
Iris vs Reach: Both are absolute beasts TvP/PvT, it will be the first official game on the new map Fantasy, so we know nothing about the balance there as of yet. I'm giving Iris the edge here, simply because he has been stronger in the recent past. I'm still hoping for Reach though (and also voted for him in Liquibet, let's hope he doesn't kill my streak ^^).
GGPlay vs Stork: Watch Stork commence the utter destruction of group D.
Isnt TvP Iris' worst MU ? I agree it will be close, but that's mostly because T>P on Xeno and slightly on Gaema and Nostalgia which are three of the four maps the starting locations have been taken from. The middle is fairly open though so I expect some flanking ownage and zealotbombs from Reach!
I seem to remember some nice ZvT ownages by cool and luxury/yellow[arnc] on Python, but its completely open, and defnitely the match of the day.
Looking forward to GGPlay vs Stork too, and yeah who the fuck cares about the Hwasin vs Darkelf game
Reach and Savior ftw! if reach wins it'll be a great confidence booster for the mantoss...as for savior, it kinda saddens me knowing that his play hasn't been the usual dominating play that we're accustomed to seeing, so it'll be nice to see him win...dont really care hu wins the other games though...
First, the games tonight are amazing. Second, the new group selection process for the OSL is even more amazing; it really rewards the top three seeds. Not only do they get to pick first for their own respective groups, but they can dump the strongest players into Group D to a) completely screw over the fourth seed and b) eliminate two strong players before the single-elimination tournament. Although having the OSL only once a week will be irritating, I expect to look forward to Thursday nights for a long, long time.
