On July 10, all accounts will be provided with a free character name change. As with previous free name changes, this name change will not stack and will replace any unused name changes that were previously available for your account. Accordingly, if you're interested in changing your name and have not used your previous name change, you may want to consider changing your name immediately. If you'd like to change your character name, log in to Account Management and select your StarCraft II game license from your list of game accounts. Use the dropdown list in the "Character Name Change" section at the bottom of your game license screen to select a region in which you'd like to use an available name change. Once you've selected a region, click the "Use Name Change" button to initiate the request. After confirming that you'd like to change your character name, simply log in to StarCraft II and you'll be prompted to select a new one.
Basically, if you've already used your name change, or if you use it today (July 9), you get another one tomorrow. Cool!

Still funny, it says "paid name change available soon" since like 2010

Just used my name change. I'm not a barcode. I went from being a nobody to being a disguised nobody!

would've liked to know that on july 9th

Is this only for Hots or does this apply to wol as well?
|
finally, now i can have my real identity by having a real name....
|
It would have been really great if Blizzard maybe banned barcode names....
If you want to hide your identity, I'm sure you can be a little more creative. Uhg.

This is awesome haha was thinking last night when they will give a new name change, I woke up and saw this Gotta get rid of may barcode ID since I kinda overcome ladder anxiety already and reached at least Masters.

It grants every sc2 account you have so I think it does not matter if you have WoL only or Hots

How can you hide it if its unique? You know.. people will know eventually its you.unless you don't add friends or tell anybody else.

If you want to hide your identity, I'm sure you can be a little more creative. Uhg. Banning barcodes wouldn't do anything. It's just a symptom of the so-called problem. If players suddenly decided that say, DavidKim was the new barcode ID, instead of tons of barcodes, you would jus see tons of DavidKims on the ladder. I'm not sure how that's better. I don't think the need for anonymity can be ignored, either. Smurfs are an important part of training on the ladder, because it allows you to hide your builds from people who would otherwise want to research you.

Hmm..It's still not available. as of this moment.
also I don't get people complaining against barcodes .. lol

lawl. I've recently decided on a new policy. If my opponent won't identify himself (or herself), in other words, if the name is a bar-code, they get no regard. No gl hf, no gg.
My reason? Dealing with these people makes it really annoying keeping track of my replays... Just a bunch of nobodies who hide their names in exactly the same way as the pro-gamers like it somehow matters that they might run into someone a second, or third time on the ladder.
Essentially, they don't exist, because they have no identity.

you're so mean.... I'm sure all those barcodes who didn't get your gl hf are having troubles sleeping at night.
