I am truly incensed at President's Obama words, that are both outrageous and foul. During a ceremony he used a term "polish death camps". In reality, it were natzi death camps. I don't believe it was a "mistake". I am sorry, but for years we were reminding this all over the world.

I don't want to flame. I can't do anything to make US President say sorry himself. All I can do, is tell all of you, that there where NO "polish death camps" during World Wars, there were natzi camps.

I think what he means is that some of the death camps were IN poland, not that the death camps were made and run by the polish people. On such a sensitive topic, he probably should have made himself more clear, but its extremely unlikely he meant to cause offense by using the phrase.
It was a mistake as in he was clearly referring to the nazi death camps but used "Polish" to refer to those located in Poland, like Jumpled said. Clearly nothing to be offended about.
Uh...well...okay. I am sorry you are offended, but to think that the President was purposely trying to piss of Poland with his choice of words is, well...a bit silly I would think. He was probably just using it as a modifier based on location, not ownership.
I am sure people are aware that Germany, not Poland started WWII. And as to the choice of words - there is nothing wrong with what he said. Technically, polish can just mean located in Poland, it doesn't have to mean designed by Poland. So nothing wrong with what he said.
I guess he could have expressed himself more precisely, especially given that there probably were Soviet death camps in Poland at the time too, so being more specific with adjectives and locations could have helped. Overall though I don't understand why you would assume that he is refering to the nationality rather than the location?
There were death camps located in poland, so from that pov the use of polish death camps is kinda correct but as you can see, easily bein misunderstood.
And as everything is being blown up there is an immense uproar... . The use of words wasnt clever but you cant just interpret the sentence how you want to
The video you linked says the white house already apologized. I watched the video and it was definitely just a mistake. He was honoring a Polish survivor with a medal, it makes no sense he is anti-Polish.
Well judging by the lack of proper english in that OP, I'm pretty sure you misunderstood something. He was refering to the fact that the camps themselves were actually located in Poland.
My goodness, sticks and stones people. I realize that the internet actually invites everyone to have opinion, no matter how stupid, I just hope that some of you start to think before you actually spout off some nonsense that only serves to make you look bad...

Thank you, TL community!
You realize many (most?) of the nazi concentration camps were in Poland right? They weren't polish camps, but slipping your tounge isn't really that far fetched. Seriously I don't understand this at all. Does anyone actually believe Poland had any camps of their own?
