I watched day9´s daily yesterday (it was about stepahno´s zvp build) where he goes 3hatches,2gases at 6 min , lair, evo and warren at 7 min, then goes infestor roach ling with upgrades..and arround 13/14 min gets spire and hive, then he builds lots of drones and spines
i found it´s a great build to defend, its very hard to break in any stage of the game , but the problem is you just CANT EVER ATTACK , the only way is if toss is stupid enough to attack your highly defended position , the only thing the toss has to do is attack where your units arent, even if you have spines theyll die , and when your army arrives he´ll have far better positioning highmasters zerg, exactly that happened to me 3 times in a row while trying the build... (i dont have stephanos gosu infestor micro...but w/e)
replays here..http://www.filefactory.com/file/c39d209/n/CARRAS.rar
in one of the games i had a good chance to win , but when i pushed my pc started freezing and everything died..
any advice ? i think my unit control kinda sucks..but idk what to do...

I didnt watch your replays, but just have good scouting so you know where HIS army is and you can have your army at the proper base he is attacking. Also a major part of Stephano's strategy is to use the roaches he builds at 12 minutes to deny the oponents 3rd for as long as possible, this allows you to take a huge economic lead and hopefully run with it.

This is quite a difficult problem to deal with. I would suggest upgrading your videocard and increasing your RAM significantly. The RAM would be the easiest fix as it is very easy to hit the memory cap on a lot of games these days even on lowest settings. There has been some RAM sales recently on DDR3, so I would start with that.
As for the Stephono style play. I got nothing... Ive been trying it out myself with varying success. I especially have a hard time against well defended 3rd's. I have tried drop play with some success. You can drop some stuff in his main while immediately pullling back into your ovie and running away and hit his 3rd at the same time. It does some damage and at least keeps him paranoid about leaving his base.

You want to try to turn every other program aside from sc2 off (including your music player). With computers it's hard to tell what is making anything crash. If that still doesn't fix your problem try a fresh install of sc2 and if that still doesn't work, a fresh install of Win7. There are also a LOT of cases where games crash with specific video cards and not because the video card is old but because there are driver issues. You might want to search your video card and see if it has any history of mishaps with other people. Hope that helps.

i believe day9 stated there is no way to be aggressive using that build specifically. maybe this build will change to be a few less spines and a few more units

Which day 9 daily number is this? I can't find it and would love to see it. I googled Day 9 stephano but got no results -.-

I found that when your maxed with big bank, just make about 15-20 spine, make more attacking units and then cancel spines. I saw Stephano use this himself the last few days on his stream. It seems to work for me.

so..actually not a single soul in TL has any ideas on how to beat protoss in the lategame ? xD

When I go for late game and wait for broodlords/infestors, I always try to hurt their economy with lings run-by's and burrowed infestors. It buys time whenever they want to move out and cripples their economy
After that, it all depends on the big final engagement.
But personally I prefer to try and end it mid-game, sometimes mixing an earlier pool to catch those greedy (FFE) bastards off guard

I do ling runbys (and drops and nydus worms) to try to whittle him down while our two colossal deathballs shadow each other, unwilling to commit to a big battle.
One cool game to watch is NSHoseo_Seal vs ST_Squirtle, where Seal literally creeped the entire map and pushed forward with spinecrawlers right up to Squirtle's base. Instead of just massing spines to defend expansions, he pushed forward and slowly strangled squirtle with them.

i think this daily sort of lacked wats stephano is scouting n how he did minor adjustments. but i think rather think of that build like seige tank mass expand n mass upgrades (remember stephano was upgrading like crazy) everytime the toss hits u kill a bit of it away. also the infestor count of stephano is like 20 while most will just make 10-15

If your game starts freezing/crashing and it didnt do so before, their are multiple things you should check (some already mentioned, but I go bring them up again anyways):
1. Drivers outdated (especially when a new patch comes out for the game, it can mess up with your current drivers). Maybe try to google your videocard+sc2.
2. Videocard not working as it should (because it did before ). Open your computer and check it for dirt! You can also use a program like "fan controll" to check the temperature of the computer. Is it louder than before? Is it warmer? On my old laptop, sc2 used to crash pretty often after playing for a long time, because it kept heating up and the fans couldnt cool it sufficently.
For the late game issue:
If the toss got a third its ultrahard to beat him imho. Especially my "mental state" makes it hard to keep up with him ("omg he got a third, im f****ed!"). They protoss army is hardcore clumbed up (200/200 deathball), which makes him (kinda) week for runbys and drops. By that point in the game, you should have every upgrade (ovi drop/speed, 3/3/3 etc) and you should be ahead in bases. Try to desctract with drops and runbys if you can. Broods and Infestors should be the weapon of choice in lategame PvZ, fungal the Stalkers and they fall to the broods ... Thats how I win. Sometimes.

I watched the daily and your replay and my understanding was that you literally get spines everywhere. Stephano had between 3-8 spines at each base as well as 10+ in attack lanes. He also made a point to keep your drones alive while accepting the expansion loss. Then you just expand on the other side of the map twice.
Day9 also made the point that BL + Infestor is great at controlling expansions. Stephano kept his big force poised to prevent the pocket expansions. It wasn't necessarily a big attack push - but using the strength of your units to control space.
Generally when Zerg goes for infestors and is trying to tech to Broods there will be tons of excess minerals. Stephano pumps those mins into drones which make spines which get replaced by more drones.
In general when you are working on a new build that extends to the late game you have to remember that it isn't appropriate in every situation and is subject to scouting. You still have to play the game. Your protoss opponent may not make the same choices Stephano's opponent did. The end of the daily Day9 shows how to react and deviate from the plan if the Protoss is aggressive in the mid game.

i¨been having some moderate luck with spinecrawler pushing to force figths on a good position. cant be done on any map , but it works on some maps/positions! like antiga (any position) , entombed valley no cross positions, taldarim no cross.. etc..
