I've considered replacing the gold expansions with standard ones. Also not so sure about the distance available around the map (for flying units) but will look into that as time goes on. Any and all feedback is welcome!

As you probably suspect the map is too big. I really like the layout but there's just too much wasted space, similar to Tal'Darim Altar, and there's also some too wide open spots (the pink ones on the summary picture). Remove those two problems and the map will already be much better. Also I think the highgrounds could use an additional ramp. Like remove the big existing one and replace it with 2 smaller ones on each side.

Good job overall!

It's also way too easy to defend 3 bases using one choke, and even four bases once you have a substantial army.

FFE's galore!

Think you need to open up the natural more, so Zergs at least have some chance of busting it. Also it seems like you can defend half the map just by defending the Xelnaga tower. (Besides from the little rocks getting taken down of course).

FlopTurnReaver: Thanks! Yeah it is slightly on the large scale. Not really to sure how much it will affect the layout if I make it much smaller though. The two ramps idea sounds pretty sick! Those pink spots as you pointed out are rather big as well, I could almost fit another base in there lol.

TehTemplar: Thanks! Will have a go at making it a little less easy and see what it looks like ^_^

OrchidThief: Making the natural safe seems to be standard on most maps, hence why mine is atm

dezi: It's not that much bigger than tal'darim altar :<

I get the feeling - but I'm not entirely sure because of the map size - that Zerg is going to have problems here because of lack of open space. Almost all parts of the map, except for the wide ramps near the middle are quite narrow and hard to surround/ambush armies in. Terran and Protoss will take too much advantage of that.
Comparing BW with SCII is like comparing a beautiful three-master sailing ship with a modern battlecruiser. Both are beautiful in their own way, both perform the same task, but they are worlds apart in how they are built and how they are steered.

Going by the bounds, I'd say the map is just plain huge. Sometimes that's easy to confuse with being chokey.

I like the combination of Backwater and Searing, I personally find the foliage weird, as decoration.

It looks reasonably balanced, with nothing totally wrong that I can see.

The lack of open space and the somewhat large size are a little odd, though.

I like the layout but not the middle part of this map
Those pink spots in the analyzer overview are defiantly too big but I don't think the general size would be that much of a problem if you had two ramps as suggested above

Okay I see it now, ye it was the map size that got me confused. Looks like a nice setup, though I'm not a fan of volcanic planets myself.

Perhaps it's not that big a deal, but the chokes at the ramps which lead into the center are narrower on the ramps with the XNT nearby. I think this should either be tested, reworked, or both. But I think it should be looked into.

Callynn: How can you not be a fan of volcanic maps? :O Scorched Haven is like the nicest looking map ever!

MisfortuneS: Yes they were narrower (kind of still are with the new ramps). Not sure how big of a deal that is though. Will look into it thanks.

PraetorialGamer: I've started looking into making it smaller, should make it less odd looking lol

TwistedFate: I've added stuff to those pink spots and changed the ramp. Reckon its still a problem?

I've updated the map with some changes! Fixed a couple of doodad/texture issues. Mainly changed the ramps / open areas. I'm trying to see how I can make it smaller without breaking everything atm. Thanks for all the feedback!

With that many expansions, I highly doubt that golds are necessary.
