Several of my PvPs have been played where a macro stage is reached for both me and my opponent, usually on two base and rarely three. But it reaches a point where they are able to win with nothing but upgraded Stalkers, and it's kind of ridiculous.
I try to keep my unit mixtures fairly healthy, throwing in Charge Zealots and Immortals in lieu of ugrades. But Charge seems to be fairly weak even with armor upgrades, and Immortals take super long to get sufficient numbers even with double Robo being Chrono Boosted.
I guess I'm making this thread to find out if this is a common problem amongst all PvPs, and the only solution being to have more Stalkers or better upgrades. I hit Gold a few weeks before Season 3 so you could say I haven't had sufficient practice in macro PvP games.
Experimenting with Archons seems to do well when supported with mass Stalker. They tank damage and have decent dps. But their gas cost might not be worth it
*Note to moderators* - this is my first thread on TL forums. Please leave feedback if I no doing it right. <3

this is easily counter by both immortals and collosus, you just have to play smart and it is an easy win vs mass blink stalkers

I have had this happen to me recently also. I have found that the most effective solution is to put a few observers with stalkers underneath to kill his observers (no vision = no blink into your base) and just kill his main.
If it turns into a baserace, immortals just tear down buildings

hihi, if you want us to help you with what went wrong in a game you played, or what you could've done better... or what you should be doing, please post a replay.
Don't take this the wrong way, but gold players can not stop a properly executed 4gate, which is the bane of PvP. My point: they can't possible understand a thing about PvP without understanding the 4gate. You have to know what you can open with, why you open that way, what and when can you transition, and can you ever secure a 2nd base.
Usually the problem lies in that a player will open blink stalker, and have a lot of trouble tech switching because of the difficulty that comes in securing an expansion in PvP. This results in just mass blink stalkers as you described. That said a very common transition from blink stalkers are chargelots and imo they are very very effective especially if your opponent is going blink stalkers as well.

This.
Please read the SC2 Strat Forum Guidelines when you get a chance. You had a disclaimer, so I decided not to warn you.

Collosi. 3-4 Collosi rip through....well, everything Protoss has. Chargelots. When in a big enoug nubmer, Chargelots will tear down Stalkers Immortals. Read above.
Collosi/Chargelots seems to be the best way to go.

Yes I think the problem I was having with Chargelots in the past was investing too much into Sentries and Stalkers, which just become useless. The invested gas would eat at potential Colossi numbers while the expensive Stalkers cut down Zealot numbers. A good mass Chargelot/Colossi seems very tasty in these situations I find myself in.
And thanks for the moderator heads up. I'll have to start saving replays of mine that are interesting or representative of a problem I'm having.

When going chargelot colossus, what keeps the stalker player from blinking under the colossi to take them out first then micro-ing against the lots? I understand that a critical mass can still just kill the stalkers, but most players will engage before you can get a high colos count. To stop this you would need immortals to hold off stalkers, but that just delays the colos production.
Do you just have to get up a high immortal count THEN get up a high colos count?

Chareglot/Blink Stalker with 1-2 archons just to prevent some crazy forcefield play should beat blink stalkers. And chareglots should allow you to at least keep up with your opponents upgrades.
