As you've hopefully heard, the ESL Pro Series has picked up SC2 for the UK&Ireland Pro Series! This means that 16 qualified players will get to take part in in a premiership league lasting fifteen weeks. The top four players at the end of the season will qualify for the finals to get a chance at the €500 (£410~) prize pool!
Unlike the IEM qualifiers, Irish players are allowed to compete so if you've played in any of the Minis or what not, you should try it out!
Starting on the 15th of September, the first of 6 qualifiying events will start. Single elimination tournaments with standard ESL rules apply. The top two players join the 4 automatic qualifiers listed below!
Qualified Players
- Ourk (T) - Qualified by winning the IEM Qualifier.
- PuReBall (T) - Qualified by coming second in IEM Qualifier.
- rANDY (Z) - Qualified by placing top 4 in IEM Qualifier.
- kYem (T) - Qualified by replacing Meepy
- Jdanzi (P) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #1.
- Slayer (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #2.
- Vequeth (P) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #2.
- TarQeS (P) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #3.
- dApollo (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #3.
- Stone (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #4.
- Gomas (T) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #4.
- CadenZa (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #5.
- FlashDave (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #5.
- Yang (Z) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #6.
- RazerBlader (T) - Qualified by placing top 2 in Qualifier #6.
- Drumz (T) - Qualified by winning Qualifier #7 as Azual's replacement.
When Starting soon, the EPS will be ready to rock and roll with the 15 week rotation. All our players are in! Unknown on the first match dates, but if they're Monday-Thursday, you can bet that they'll be cast by either TotalBiscuit or, the only French/English team since WW2: Tyr and myself.
Hype So, who will take the prize?

Huge thanks again Flicky for the post!
I cannot state enough how important it is to pack these qualifiers with people (and afterwards the Amateur Series), we really need the help of the community to jump start the UK SC2 community and get it up to the same size and activity of France and Germany so that we can have a bigger prize pool next season
Hope to see a lot new faces over the next couple of weeks of the qualifiers!

Also do the people already qualified have t oplay in any qulaifieres, id be bummed if I lost to any of them in an early rounds when theyve already qualified.
|
Signed up for all of em, can only guarantee my attendance on the 15th, as i'm moving to uni on the 19th but i'll try to play
|
Ooooh... Looking forward to these.
Are they doing any more IEM UK qualifiers on top of this btw?

No, the UK had 1 QR1 spot in the Masters, and that spot has gone to Ourk for winning the qualifier

You mean you and Tyr aren't casting it? Makes me a sad panda.
EDIT: Rogue, are there player caps on this? Meaning if we don't sign up for all of them now we might miss out on a place in the later ones?

Shame... Holland had about 4 qualifiers this week... I guess Britain needs to raise its e-sports profile a bit to get more slots!

There will be no sign up limit up until check-in starts (20 minutes before each cup), and then the cup would be limited to no more 256 players

The Masters distribution was largely influenced by Go4SC2 results, and unfortunately we haven't had many good UK players earning points there (except for DeMusliM, who moved to Germany, and his points moved with him)

The number of spots seems VERY reasonable compared to our skilled player count tbh.

looking to get my revenge on randy so sounds good . unfortunately its a shame i can only play in one of these qualifiers..

Well TL seems to disagree having let rANDY and Ourk into the pro pre-registration on the Altitude Open.

While totally awesome, I saw the other day that his status on TL.net was banned. I was like waaa... TB! Was he mean to somebody? lol.

Ack guys, my brother is up here for a few days, haven't seen him in almost a year and the family wants to all go out for a meal tonight. I can't really refuse that and shouldn't, so I won't be casting today's qualifier.
What I will do though, is that anyone in the qualifier who wants their replay cast in a separate show, should send it over to me at shoutcraft[at]cynicalbrit.com and I'll see what I can do.
Again, apologies.

Looking forward to losing in the first round.

Remember everyone, sign ups are still wide open, please spread the word!

When I try to add a Gameaccount (which is necessary to sign up the tournament) the box just greys out whenever I click "send."
