Dimaga's statement:
You are not going to believe it, but it is true. I am seriously considering changing my race. This is, however, understandable: you must realize that I have not only moral responsibility to my fans, but a much more real, financial responsibility to my employer.
I do not just play Starcraft 2 for fun, it is my JOB. The image and the popularity of the team depend on my results, and so I must do whatever is necessary to make my team the best. Unfortunately, in the present balance situation regarding Zerg, I cannot achieve good results for my team. Blizzard's inaction only further fuels the fire.
Because of these reasons, unless there is at least an announcement of the new patch after GOM TV Global Starcraft II League and IEM Global Challenge Gamescom, I am going to switch from my precious Zerg to the more successful Terran.
I really want at least a small balance change, but so that your game does not have to depend solely on the mistakes of your opponent. I want fair play. Hopefully, I will not have to take such extreme measures.
Dmitry "DIMAGA" Filipchuk
EDIT: Before you post something like this

Honestly, I can't see any logic whatsoever with his decision. If T gets nerfed will he switch to the next FOTM? IdrA is doing surprisingly well considering how underpowered zerg are, and even if they have their problems he's going way overboard. Going for one base all ins in tournaments and.. meh.
please realize that
1) He has to produce good results as a sponsored player. 2) He doesn't want to switch because Terran are stronger at the moment. He wants to draw Blizzard's attention to the fact that on the pro level it is next to impossible to achieve consistently good results with Zerg.

cant wait till Check wins GOM Global Challenge and IdrA and Dimaga are left in the dust strategically for practicing multiple races.

LOL. Nope Terran isnt OP he's just bad with Zerg. Oh god
|
Wow seeing Dimaga as Terran will be weird o.o

sigh who really didn't expect this?

Rofl. "Zerg is fine, l2p".

SC2 is going to be so great in events when every match is TvT.

Blizzard is taking their time for a reason, they're looking for the best possible changes they can make and not hasty ones like they had in the beta where they could afford to make mistakes. However it probably wont take more than a few weeks for the next balance patch to come out and that's probably less time than it would take for Dimaga to reach the same skill level as he has with zerg. (skill level, not rating boosted by being able to abuse terran) GOM being partners with Blizzard it makes sense for Blizzard to try to iron the balance before the tournament starts.
I guess I do understand his concerns though, but imo. any race switching because of current imbalance(s) is overreacting before we reach a point Blizzard decides to start concentrating on another RTS title, the game will be changing at such a pace that if you follow the newest balance trend all the time its just going to be ridiculous and detrimental to one's skill level.

Oh man. He was probably the most influential Zerg of the early beta, too.

I also have played over 70~ games as Terran on ladder. I fully support you Dimaga. Hopefully we will both be back to the swarm. Best of luck with your terran!

He says in the statement that if he was to switch to Terran it wouldnt be until AFTER the GOM event.
Totally understandable from Dimaga though. I used to play Zerg too but its simply easier to be good using Terran. I don't think Zerg are uncompetitive but my APM and practice hours are limited and it simply requires much less skill to win games (and get a high rating/place in tournaments) using Terran.

Practicing another race isn't totally a bad thing. It helps you understand the matchup more and realize the strengths and weaknesses of terran.

Most new rts games have one race tournaments due to imbalance. Starcraft is much better at hiding it than most though.
When large amounts of money are on the line you go with what you feel gives the best chance. I am sure dimaga will be doing better than ever before in just a few weeks.

Please watch some gosu play z its not op with T there is just a song about it.
Many top korean is z
not.

You should've put this in latest TvZ balance threads. No need of another cry imba thread.

Hope he can return to Zerg when the next patch is released, I really enjoy watching his style. Either way, glhf as terran

That's sad

I don't think anyone is tired of seeing TvT's yet, they are just so...suck. Stay strong Dimaga! If you claim to be the victim, you will be the victim!

So lets say DIMAGA practices Terran for the next 6 months, and then Terran gets nerfed. Where is he then? Playing a race because of balance in a game environment where it's going to change monthly is ridiculous.
