Greetings,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the status of the StarCraft II Beta.
Phase 1 of the Beta has ended at this time. While we finish up preparation for our next phase of Beta, access to the StarCraft II Beta will be disabled. We anticipate the next phase of the beta (Phase 2) will begin sometime in early July 2010. All players who had access to Phase 1 will retain access through Phase 2. Additional information regarding invites for Phase 2 is not available at this time.
Should any news be announced regarding Phase 2 of the Beta, it will be posted on our StarCraft II Beta forums at http://forums.battle.net/index.html?sid=5000. These forums will remain open during this downtime for any StarCraft II discussion you may wish to have. Note that you require a prior Beta account in order to post on these forums.

awesome! i was worried they'd pull some more bs, but this is satisfactory news 
also, beta is a closed beta fyi, emaning only ppl who got in b4.

I'm going to assume they're going to throw the full set of features they intend on giving you on release so that they can have the product as a whole polished completely for release date
What I really WANT to see is:
-Chat channels (lol.)
-The custom map system suck less - popularity is a terrible way to be forced to sort by
-New ladder maps, especially 2v2/3v3/4v4
-Lurkers

Nah they're probably going to add back some bnet 1.0 features and make balance changes. That would be kinda bizarre and cool if they changed starting drones to 4. Also they'll probably change the netcode.

When is a safe bet for phase 2's arrival, 2 weeks before release? So, July 13?
